Re: Marvel questions... What do you think will happen in the next Spiderman movie now that MJ and Ned don't remember Peter, and do you foresee Ned ever getting to rediscover and develop his magic skillz?
At no point in time have I ever had any idea what Marvel is going to do with their Spider-Man stuff! Part of that's because I have very little investment in Peter Parker or various Spider-people in general (whether MCU, comics, or otherwise) and partly because MCU!Peter is so far off comics!Spider-Man that it's near-impossible to predict what they want to do with him.
If I had to guess, I think we're at the point where the MCU has to bring in some version of OsCorp -- I know NWH has Norman Osborn say that OsCorp doesn't exist in the MCU, but obviously that guy was lying about many things, so there's no reason to treat that as gospel truth. For whatever reason, NWH also did not bring in any version of Harry Osborn, so I would not be surprised if the next phase of Spider-Man films start bringing in those more classic Spider-Man characters that so far haven't been introduced in the MCU, like Harry Osborn and Gwen Stacy, either as regular Gwen or as Ghost-Spider. Ghost-Spider (a.k.a. Spider-Gwen) is hugely popular and she is a multiverse character, so I could see her appearing either as an alternate universe character or, if that's too close to what they already in NWH, I could see the MCU introducing her as an Earth-199999 (or MCU Earth-616, however we want to go with it) character. Just because she's a multiverse character in the comics doesn't mean she has to be in the MCU. Or bringing in Cindy Moon (Silk); love an Asian superhero and we can always use more of them in the MCU. (Please bring in Silk.) (Huh, according to Wiki Cindy is in Homecoming and IW...did not pick that up.) I would not be surprised to go a full Spider-Man movie without seeing MJ and Ned, but see them pop up in a different MCU film/show before they're reunited with Peter in Spidery 5.
If I was to write Spider-Man 4, what I would do is go back to the thing that the MCU has actually never dealt with, which is Peter Parker's origin story and where the spider came from. Statistically speaking in the MCU, the original spider was yet another attempt to replicate the super soldier serum. One could either have that be OsCorp or someone else (I've theorized it might have been Hammer Industries, which we know from IM2 is headquartered in Queens). Peter, now that he's out of high school and no longer associated with Tony Stark or the Avengers, now has the freedom to go back and look into what happened to him when he was originally bitten and what the circumstances leading to that were. Which uncovers a Conspiracy that he has to deal with all on his own, because now he doesn't have any friends or allies; this could lead to him finding other in-universe Spider-people who got different versions of the Spider bite/serum/whatever, maybe being used by Mystery Company or working for the Department of Damage Control or out there on their own. Peter's MCU appearances to date have all been so large-scale that it would actually be a huge shock to go back to something really intimate that is solely focused on him and New York, and I think that's the way to go -- to really play up on his isolation post-NWH.
As for Ned and his magic...I got nothing. Like I said up above, I would be very surprised if the next tie we saw Ned and MJ was in a Spider-film; I would expect them to show up either as cameo character, post-credits, or supporting characters in another MCU film/show first. I have no idea which one that would be; magic might suggest Agatha: Coven of Chaos, but that doesn't seem very likely. If I had to guess, I'd say we'll next see them in Ironheart, but really, it could be anything.

Down in the Devil's Lair, Chapter 1 (sequel to Devil's Backbone)
I read 'Devil's Backbone' and absolutely loved it. It's amazing. Seriously, are you writing professionally right now? Anyways... I'm just curious as to whether there will be any more fics set in this universe. Will we ever find out how the details of what happened between Kanan and the Hunter? How is Ezra's training going to go under a former Inquisitor, with most of the Inquisition also destroyed? Thank you!

I'm on a break from writing Star Wars right now because I'm pretty burned out on it, but Backbone was planned as the first of a trilogy. The second story is titled Down in the Devil's Lair and has been in progress for a while now; it takes up about six months after Backbone and deals with some of the repercussions of the events of Backbone, both on the Imperial and Free Ryloth sides, and how that scales up due to the Free Ryloth victory -- that sort of second season/sequel scale-up. The first chapter has been complete for about...two years? But I work three chapters ahead for my serious chaptered work, so it never started posting. Some of it is scattered in the daily snippets in my kanera agents of the empire tag, which is the series tag.
Set in not-quite-the-same universe is my other side AU concept, which I'm in the process of editing and reworking to post to AO3 as a titled fic. The edits should add about 10-30K, depending, but parts 1-10 of other side are technically a complete story. A lot of the fic in my cut scenes and concept writing tag is set in what I call "Backbone base 'verse", a.k.a. Inquisitor!Kanan and ISB!Hera, but not identical to Backbone or to Backbone's backstory.
Actual Backbone backstory posted as concept writing includes:
the Felucia op, set about four months after Kanan's first return from the Crucible: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4
the Hunt where Kanan earned the sobriquet the Hound (written as a flashback scene cut from Backbone)
Kanan and Hera's initial meeting on Gorse (another cut flashback scene)
Cham and Alecto's first meeting (about 30 years prior)
As for Kanan and the Hunter specifically, I've never had any intent to go into much more detail than in Backbone or what's scattered through the concepts. (Probably other side AU goes into the most detail, but it's still pretty vague.) I've found that both as a reader and a writer it's more effective with that level of trauma to leave the details as obscured as possible, because then it can potentially be even worse than the worst you can imagine! And gives room for me to play with later if desired, something that isn't necessarily true if I give a lot of specific details or nail something down as having definitively happened. (Lair would deal with some of Kanan's lingering trauma from the Hunter.)

Sooooo, I'm still super psyched about how awesome Backbone was (THANK YOU for this great contribution to fanlit) and have more questions! In 'Backbone', someone (Kanan?) mentions that Wild talents tend to run in lineages. Is the Hunter's and Kanan's ability to manipulate the Inquisitor's pack instinct one such wild talent? Given Ezra's canonical ability to 'connect', will he manifest a similar talent despite the Inquisition being all but gone?
I had actually never thought of it like that! And I don't think I processed until you mentioned it that Ezra's in the Hunter's lineage as much as he is in Mace's. I'm trying to remember what I was actually thinking when I wrote those scenes in Backbone -- I think part of my logic was that the Hunter and Kanan both grew up in the Order and as a result part of their base understanding of the Force involves how to use it to influence/manipulate groups of other people in a way that's sort of alien to the Inquisition. Because the Inquisition doesn't do a whole lot of group work other than the Hunts (and that's mostly just "kill kill kill"), Force-users who are shaped by the Inquisition don't have that understanding. It's less a wild talent and more just a different way of using the Force (and not one that Palpatine/Vader would encourage in individual Inquisitors).

of course i have!!! i don’t watch a lot of animated things that aren’t star trek, but i made an exception for YOI. (every time i think about that show, i feel like telling yuri to be kinder to himself about coming in sixth at the grand prix final—you have to be so so good to even make it to the GPF! ahem. anyway.)
