I will probably be teaching my proposed course on "serial narratology" this spring. YAY!!! So, I need suggestions for: --Early radio programs or recent narrative based podcasts (serials. Obvi) --A comic that has an easy arc to understand outside of the comics universe (I'm thinking @mattfractionblog and Aja's Hawkeye, since I'm working on my article about Clint's "disability", but suggestions welcome) --a quick read novel series ( @knottahooker I'm thinking young adult or even children's lit) --a film franchise that we can do in 2 movies (my gut instinct is Star wars episodes 6 and 7, but...) --a serial fanfic based on a serial narrative (not too explicit, but m/m or f/f or genderbend would be perfect) And, leverage episodes. The pilot and finale, for sure. I need one and only one orher. ( @sorcerous-kitty ??) Ideally, these should be cheap or easy to find streaming. This is a senior level theory course in the intersection of neo-Marxism and narratology, designed for English and English education majors. Theory texts include Jennifer Hayward's Consuming Pleasures, Peter Brooks' Reading for the Plot, a few chapters from Henry Jenkins' various works, and (of course) Burke on rhetoric in literature. Help my students have fun while learning some difficult theories!

i want to talk all about spideytorch. like how peter parker meets johnny storm at nyc summer camp as they are counselors. johnny by force because sue said he needed to do something instead of lounging around the baxter building all summer. peter because he always was a counselor. they have very different counseling methods. johnny is very good at making camp fires. and peter is amazing at papier mache

It is fantastic!  Silk is so great.  :3  I had let my comics stock pile for a while and finally dug through them all and I can’t believe I waited so long with her.  :D  She’s amazeballs.  And yes, Robbie did a marvelous job with it and the art is perfection.  :3

Thankfully, no.  :D  The program is entirely online so I don’t need to be on OSU campus proper.  :D  

I am still unemployed and it sucks.  D:  

The questionable taste bathtub scene isn’t surprising, but I’m glad she survived! I might try to watch the episode later, less because it’s Supernatural and more because I’m down for anything with Amy Acker in it.
