It took me 3 hours of non stop cleaning (dusting, scrubbing counters and appliances, dishes, sweeping and mopping, etc) to get my house spotless. I put my 4 year old and 2 year old down for a nap and waited til they were asleep then I walked maybe 50 feet down the road from my driveway to my oldest bus stop, waited for 7 minutes on the bus then we went back home.
Unlock front door to find my iris and orchid's pots knocked over, spilling their dirt all over my still wet mopped floors. The lid to the fish tank is half off and there are 3 monster truck toys at the bottom of it. And both the 4 year old and the 2 year old are coloring on the floor with chalk. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WE HAD CHALK BECAUSE WE HAVEN'T BOUGHT ANY IN 2 YEARS. They are covered in chalk and dirt and something sticky that I have no clue what it is because it has no smell or color and all my cabinets are still child locked so they couldn't have got into anything I know of that is sticky and colorless.
Moral of this: never leave them alone for even a minute. Never.
