Last night's attempt went much better than any so far.
I'm not sure if it's easier for me to try smoothing this in Blender, or continue trying for a better photo set/object generation. I'm still quite terrible in Blender.
An object with overhangs over 45 degrees normally requires supports to be added before 3D printing. Choosing the right support settings and structures is a skill that needs to be learned when using desktop SLA and FDM 3D printers. Personal work is at a standstill for the time being but I repurposed one of Sevi's shoulder skulls into this delightful succulent holder. Hopefully I'll have these printed in time for @fanquestcon ! #3d #3dmodel #3dart #zbrush #meshmixer #pixologic #skull #3dprinting #3dprint #sculpture #sculpt #succulentholder #art #artist #digitalart #decor #winnipeg #fanquest #shoplocal
Making more stuff! built a Twilight Princess Howling stone mostly from scratch, using a papercraft version for reference. Pretty happy with the rock texture, but needs a little more reshaping, I think.
I also found a way to transfer some of my old Papercraft Models (PDO files) into 3d printable versions. I’m also getting better at editing things in meshmixer, I was able to use that to clean up this version of wolf link with Midna, and actually separate them into their own files. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2780000
One day, I think I’d like to try making every collectable item from every zelda game, scaled for my Figma Skyward Sword Link. Every shield version, every upgrade, every weapon. It’s important to pick a hobby that doesn’t let you get bored, lol.
Printing in the process with Ultimaker 3+. First time making Voronoi patterns in MeshMixer. Hopefully, it will get printed successfully. I will update when the print is done.
