The Duet (Imprisoning War)
This is a gift for @kikker-oma. Her birthday is at the end of this month, so everyone wish her a happy birthday!! :D Oma, beloved and wonderful friend, I hope you enjoy this absolutely absurd little story, it's so dumb LOL. But Link and Merovar do get to be stupid boys together <3
Merovar glanced around, nudging his sister. "Hey, where's your boyfriend? Didn't you invite him to midday meal? Or breakfast? One of the two?"
Hemisi sighed. "He won't eat with us. Says he has to work."
"Servants don't eat with nobility and royalty," Ganondorf noted dully.
Hemisi bristled, but their father clarified mildly, "It's a simple fact, daughter. I'm not saying he would be unwelcome. But the boy knows his place."
So a few days ago I was brain dead but wanted to vibe with the blorbos so I did one of those incorrect quote generators and loved it. I was gonna see if I could doodle the characters with the quotes but I donāt have time/energy/talent for that so Iāll just post the quotes I saved because they fit so well š
Power: In my defense, I was left unsupervised. Ganondorf: Wasnāt Hemisi with you? Hemisi: In my defense, I was also left unsupervised.
Power: Iām kind of crushing on someone, but Iām worried about telling you who it is, because youāre not going to like it. Diplomat: Just rip the bandage off. Power: Itās Hemisi. Diplomat: Put the bandage back on.
Power: Whatās a word thatās a mix between āsadā and āmadā? Diplomat: Disgruntled, miserable, desolatedā Hemisi: Smad.
Power: You have to apologize to Zelda. Hemisi: Fine. Hemisi: āUnfuck youā or whatever.
Hemisi: We need to get through this locked door. Zelda, give me your credit card. Diplomat: Here. Hemisi, pocketing it: Thanks. Link, kick down the door.
Power: Merovar, we should keep an eye on Hemisi today. Sheās going to say something to the wrong person and start a fight. Merovar: Sure, Iād love to see Hemisi get punched. Power: Try again. Merovar, sighing: I will stop Hemisi from getting punched.
Power: If you had to choose between Merovar and all the money I have in my wallet, which would you choose? Hemisi: That depends, how much money are we talking about? Merovar: Iām priceless. Power: 63 cents. Hemisi: Iāll take the money. Merovar: HEYā
Power: Are you sure this is the right direction? Merovar: Certainly, Iām as sure as I am honest! Hemisi: In that case, weāre definitely lost.
Merovar: If I die, my funeral is going to be the biggest party ever and youāre all invited. Power: If? Hemisi: Iām not going unless thereās chocolate. And youāre actually dead.
Power, holding a python: I found a snake and just decided to bring him home, what do I name him Ganondorf: You did WHATā Hemisi: William Snakespeare
Power: Itās all right, surely I wasnāt that drunk last night. Impa: You were flirting with Hemisi. Power: Sheās my girlfriend. Impa: You asked her if she was single. Power: Impa: And then you cried when she said she wasnāt.
The Many Languages of Love - Familial (Imprisoning War)
Summary: Merovar & Hemisi share a quiet night together, worrying about their father and their future.
Setting: Calamity Timeline, prior to the Imprisoning War
Crickets chirped, a gentle ambience filling the air softly like water slowly filling a spring. Hemisi stared out at the sky, the stars hazy and distant in the warm summer night, so different from the extreme temperature shifts she'd grown up with in the desert.
"It's still weird being able to sit out here in practically the same clothes as daylight," her brother, Merovar, noted from his perch beside her. The pair had wandered to one of the higher balconies of the castle, sealing the entrance off and climbing up a level to sit on the roof. They'd both wanted some privacy and silence from the chaos below.
"Yeah," Hemisi agreed dully, laying back against the roof.
The siblings didn't speak for a while before Merovar asked, "Do you ever miss home?"
For the three sentence prompts, family dinner?
Link glanced around a little anxiously, not sure he really belonged here at the table, but the food looked delicious, Hemisi's smile was warm and welcoming, and...
He just didn't know what to make of it. Prince Merovar was chatting casually about his day to Queen Nabooru, Hemisi was elbowing Link and occasionally throwing barbs at her brother, and Lord Ganondorf was munching quietly on his curry and even occasionally chuckling at his children's remarks.
It all felt so... he didn't know the word for it. Relaxed? Calming? Comfortable?
He really didn't belong here. But he'd been invited to join the family for the Festival of Colors, and here he sat with them as if he were...
How many times do they have to tell you you're welcome before you actually accept it?
Link swallowed, gripping his spoon more tightly so his hand didn't shake, and he tried to hide his smile.
He liked being here.

The word ātrustā for hero of power?
Link watched Merovar, a little bemused. He had a sinking suspicion the prince was trying to get him in trouble, but he wasnāt entirely sure - Merovar didnāt seem quite as mischievous as his sister.
āTrust me,ā the prince said with a wink. āMisi will love it.ā
Link but his lip and weighed his options. He didnāt really have a choice - this was the prince of the Gerudo, he couldnāt say no. Besides, he did genuinely want to surprise her, and his other options were either asking Gerudo guards (he wasnāt sure how public Hemisi wanted their relationship to be, so he didnāt dare try that) or going to Lord Ganondorf (which, at this point, sounded akin to suicide). So he nodded and sat down and tried to learn the Gerudo expressions Merovar had to offer.
Ooooh if there any wips that haven't gotten asked about please tell me more! I love all your stories <3
I think the only one thatās left is Imprisoning War, so hereās a snippet. Or two. Or three. Mainly because I was looking for one specific snippet but found a bunch that I didnāt even remember writing LOL
tender, for any au :)
Ganondorfās touch was gentle, braiding his daughterās hair with tender care.
Hemisi sighed, moving her head slightly. āDad, do we really have to go? Thatās such a long way from the desert. Are the people in Hyrule even decent?ā
āWhatās the matter, Misi, donāt want to see something new?ā Merovar drawled from where he was lounging on his bed.
āI have plenty of things to see here,ā Hemisi argued mildly. āYou have no right to talk considering you rarely leave Lagema, itās too inconvenient.ā
āEnough,ā Ganondorf hushed his children, finish off Hemisiās braid. She tugged the thick hair over her shoulder, admiring her fatherās work. āWeāre all going together for a reason. Merovar, you are next in line for the throne and better equipped for diplomatic relations. You will work with me on handling the king. Hemisiāā
āYeah, yeah,ā his daughter interrupted, waving a hand. āFigure out the security. Got it.ā
āRemember, I expect you both to behave and show your maturity,ā Ganondorf said sternly. āWe are representing the Gerudo, and our peopleās future relies on us succeeding in this mission. That means formal behavior and titles.ā
His twins sobered, both nodding. Merovar looked eager and excited, while Hemisi looked a little nervous. āYes, father.ā
