yessss i do have playlists for my self ships!!! the jariel one is much much much more prominent than my other ones and i've only recently made my mermaidghost one but!!! they're literally everything to me!!!

there are some artists that are basically tone setters for the ships. for jariel it's taylor swift (act shocked everyone), technically her music is so versatile and explores so many themes that it's is in literally all my playlists but. i dedicate almost all her songs (especially the reputation and lover album) to jason. i think just outside of selfshipping i relate to a lot of her lyrics and i find that a lot of them could apply to jason too. likeeeee listen to the evermore album and tell me you don't think of him. literally. also she's just my favourite artist and white woman of all time, jason is my favourite fic character and white man of all time, the correlation is obvious. another artist i think makes peak jariel songs is sabrina carpenter. idk something about them blue eyed blondies and their love songs just tick all the jariel criteria.

i'm gonna cheat a little bit and give you my top 3 taylor jariel songs, then some random songs.

for taylor:

this is not just my favourite taylor song but also just my favourite song ever ever ever ever. i could go on and on about how important to me and artistically perfect it is but to to keep it short it literally embodies the very essence of jariel. it just paints a sweet and beautiful picture of love all while still being self aware of your character and how secure you feel in this relationship that you don't care what anyone has to say about it. the way the melody just blends so well with the lyrics and makes the meaning stand out even more. it's just such a comfort song that i dedicate to jason because he's my everything <3

this song is pretty self explanatory. like. idk you can just listen to it and figure out why it's so jariel. we just started it off with pissing each other so much but in reality we were just fighting the underlying feelings we had for each other. and it's infuriating. the bridge was literally inspired by us i know it taylor told me.

this song takes a deeper dive on the struggles we both went through before finally making it out and realizing that maybe we should give this a chance lol (we were meant to be together). this song is literally gorjus and it kind of describes our headspace and entourage instead of just focusing on our little selves.

now for mermaidghost, i've only recently got into my simon brainrot but i've slowly started fleshing it out and!!! thanks to aurore i figured out that the artist who describes us the best is lana del rey. like i mean she's queen of singing about older men and their controversially young girlfriend so. everytime i think of simon while listening to her music i get so 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 another artist i think embodies us so so well is gracie abrams. another case of sad girl music because him and i are tragic in that way </3

this was suggested by aurore as part of our stripper au but even outside of that it's just so.... us... like i'm literally his midnight answer. he goes wandering around all day but the moment it gets dark everyone knows where he'll be (in my bed). also i just think he'd always have to sit through my dancing sessions so.

i giggled a little bit when i thought of this because he's a british army man so naturally overboard patriotic but. baby that's not gonna work with me <333 i'm your home country now pledge allegiance to me.

funny little thing but there’s this unreleased gracie abrams song called tuesday/denial which is soooo mermaidghost but she changed the lyrics then released the official one titled let it happen and it’s very jariel coded… i just thought it was super funny lol

aaaaaaa simon has been on my mind way too frequently this summer and i fear the brainrot is only getting deeper... ever since i discovered the cod franchise he's been my fav among the 141 mainly cause he reminded me so much of jason (specifically ak) but also not at all?? they're so similar in their critical thinking and acting but simultaneously could not be any more different? like. i don't know. and he's just so fascinating as a character it's dizzying. his persona just opens up so many possibilities and i thought my interest was tamed and moderate at first until aurore started cod posting... unleashing a beast within me....

mermaidghost is a ship that originally was intended to be very tragic. i'm a psychologist hired to work with the 141 studying their ennemies and targets but also keeping track of their mental state... and in all honesty simon's character is not just a walking red flag he's a literal siren sounding. trying to break through him for professional purposes is already a challenge and i don't think he'd necessarily be the worst person to date ever and beyond saving but i wanted to keep it realistic so knowing myself i really wouldn't be able to go on with someone like him. but somehow angel aurore once again broke my fourth wall and i decided to opt for a happy ending but we (he) have to work for it and it takes us a break and years apart to finally come around, making you question if it was truly worth it...

i think what i love the most about this ship and i told aurore about it is the implication that comes with it!!! i'm thinking of a man who's been turned to a weapon meant to destroy every human life he's ordered to. one who makes his adversaries wiggle in fear at the sight of his shadow because they won't live long enough to get a grasp of the brute of a man standing behind them. a silence broken by a bullet sounding is the last thing they hear as it pierces through them and a haze slowly falling upon their eyes before the light flickers out of them, a blurry ghost mask being the last picture they have of this world. a man who has been hardened by his past and time on earth over and over again erasing any type of fear from his dna, a foreign feeling that he's now overwhelmed with as the terror of falling for his best pal's little sister who's desperately trying to break into his psyche befalls upon him. a woman who's laying down her life for the belief of resurrecting broken human lives by the power of the brain and giving everybody a chance for a peaceful life. he's so tormented cause he doesn't deserve to be haunting the mind of someone who stands for everything he's been trained against and he doesn't deem it fair that i'm wasting my time on trying to get him to love me when he's the least deserving of affection and a coward who hides behind a mask, a ghost, the cage locking simon riley from this world. it's such a complex and delicate situation like he holds himself in the lowest standards and i'm just trying to get him out of his own head to realize that he's worth so much more...

yes there is!!!! i'm not in love with a fictional character unless i have made up an au where i'm a mermaid in it hehehehe,,, for jariel the au is basically a retelling of the little mermaid like he's just soooo prince eric coded i can't get over it :(( i think the little mermaid is just top 1 most jariel story ever oh to have him whipped for me just from my voice and a hazy memory of me....... for mermaidghost there's a pirate au i have with aurore where we're both mermaids and ghoap are pirates that kidnap us!!! it's one of my fav aus ever and it's so sweet and adorbs for us like i'm so enamoured and intrigued by him but i'm just his little prized possession (at the very first at least...),,, besides there's an au where jason is a werewolf and one where we're both vampires,, i haven't really had time to think of other ones for simon mmmm i need to work on that,,,

halloween is my favourite holiday so a celebration is a must!!!! he takes time to go out shopping with me and we decorate the entire house inside out cause it's so much fun!!! he acts annoyed by it at first but i know that he loves how his cold house is getting warmer and closer to a proper definition of what a home is. i also think he has multiple variations of his masks and his balaclavas but he takes halloween as an excuse to get a new one xncbjbjdbjd,,, he finds it amusing that it scares off the teenagers but he makes sure to tone down his attitude when it's children that ring at the door,,, but i think his mask will depend on what costume we're going for... we usually got for stuff like phantom at the opera or corpse bride

TEHEHEHE A LITTLE MERMAID COSTUME OBVIOUSLY!!!!! everytime i look at jason fabok's jason i'm astonished at how eric coded he looks like PUT THAT MAN IN THAT COSTUME RIGHT NEOW!!!!! i just know we'd look so so good dressing up like that one scene in the animated movie where eric takes ariel out for a ride around town.... i also think an elizabeth bennet/mr darcy, the notebook, vampires or pirates costumes would eat on us
