ive been picking away at several different wips but very little of it feels shareable 😅 heres a tiny bit of mermau

"That's him, Mobius!" He thrust out a trembling finger to point at Loki. "He's the one they're looking for!"

"Casey-"

"He stabbed Coulson! And he stole the Tesseract! He wants to kill us all, Mobius!"

It felt as though all the air was sucked from Mobius' lungs. He turned slowly back around to find all eyes on Loki.

Loki's eyes, now returned to a stormy blue and shining with tears, were locked on him.

trying to be super patient with myself while it feels like ive forgotten how to write and all my wips look like conspiracy boards covered in string 👏

Mobius wasn't quite sure what he expected to find, when the truck pulled into the junkyard. But Loki in loose coveralls, holding a ratchet, and covered in grease was no where near the top of his list.

He and O.B. were bent over the half dissected chasse of an old convertible, Loki seemingly absorbed in every detail of whatever O.B. was explaining to him, when Mobius and the others got out of the vehicle. A wide grin spread across his face when he glanced up, lighting Mobius on fire from the inside out.

i have a bit of a lokiusweek fic started but not enough to share yet. maybe by sunday 👏

Loki carefully lifted his eyes and glanced around. Mobius held his breath, waiting for someone to react. For a beat, no one did.

Then Sean and Kevin began spouting with glee.

"That was amazing!"

"How did you do that!"

"Why are you blue??"

"You look like Dad's paintings!"

"Are you a mermaid??"

"Merman, Kevin!"

The color was already fading away, making the deep flush of Loki's face that much more obvious.

ive got a couple ideas simmering for lokius week so hopefully i'll have some of that ready for next time 👏

i have a very little bit of the next ch of the mermau to share 🥰 Loki avoids the water until something grabs hold of the boys.

Mobius' brain screamed at him to move, but he found himself rooted to the spot. He could hear more shouting, thick and muffled, as if his ears were filled with cotton. In horror, he watched the scene without any of it actually processing in his mind, until hands gripped his shoulders and gave him a jostle.

O.B.'s voice penetrated the haze, the words taking a moment to bring Mobius back to himself. "They're okay! Loki's got them."

Blinking rapidly, Mobius sucked in a breath and glanced around to find the boys sitting upright on the sandy bank. They were wailing inconsolably, both with a few large gashes across their shins and calves, but blessedly alive.

"Ohmygod," he breathed in relief, and dashed forward, dropping to his knees in the wet sand.

There was so much blood, coming from long parallel wounds, as if made by claws or teeth, but they appeared to be mostly superficial aside from two or three deep cuts. So distracted was he by the swell of terror and nausea in his chest, that he almost didn't notice the indigo hue of Loki's skin.

i've just posted ch4 of the mermau! i managed to smooth out a couple of bumpy points in the story's outline and i got some super juicy ideas for ch5 BUT i gotta take a break first. so have a little of what i just posted ✨

Mobius tried to formulate an appropriate response, but his mind was entirely blank, as if he simply couldn't fathom the sort of cosmic horror, to which Loki referred. Loki turned his head to look at him, searching for a reaction.

Finally, he managed to croak out: "… oh."

Loki huffed in agitation. "'Oh'?!"

"Well- sorry… I guess I'm just having a hard time picturing it. I mean… 'Unleashing some kind of eldritch beast' sounds like a-… a World-Ending Apocalypse kinda thing…"

Loki just continued to gaze at him, silently. Mobius felt his blood run cold.

ch4 of the mermau is DONE 👏 it only took three months and a little of my soul 😮‍💨😍

Finally, Mobius did what he'd been longing to do since he first laid eyes on him, reaching out to pull Loki into his ready arms and Loki fell against him, clinging and trembling.

For a while neither of them spoke. Mobius hovered between inviting Loki upstairs and urging him to go back to O.B.'s, but it was Loki who spoke first.

"I should go…"

Mobius felt his stomach drop at the wording. He wanted to clarify, to ask if he would see Loki tomorrow, but he was too afraid to find out the answer.

When Loki pulled away, he took Mobius' face in his hands, gaze roaming as if to commit it to memory. A few more tears rolled down Mobius' cheeks. Loki swiped them away.

"Thank you, Mobius," he whispered.

Then, he slipped back out the way he'd come in and was gone.

hopefully with a few more days of editing it will be ready to post over the weekend.

here's a lil bit more of merLoki hanging out w O.B. (who, in this fic, creates moving sculptures out of found objects (which is relevent info for this snippet))

"Oh! Loki, that's great!"

Loki ducked his head, hands hovering awkwardly. "It- it doesn't do anything."

"That's okay!" Ouroboros dropped onto the stool beside him and peered closely at the sculpture, adding: "Not everything has to have a purpose, you know?" He said it so casually, as if that statement wasn't an electric shock to Loki's nervous system.

"You said that I had five days," Loki hissed.

"I AM CHANGING THE TERMS OF OUR AGREEMENT," Cthanos replied darkly. "YOU NOW HAVE THREE. AND YOU HAVE ALREADY USED UP THE FIRST. YOU BELIEVE YOURSELF TO HAVE A CHOICE? THAT YOUR MAN IS SAFE WHERE HE IS; THAT I CANNOT REACH HIM IN HIS BED? THE SEA CALLS TO HIM, AND HE WILL ANSWER, JUST AS BEFORE. HE WILL BE MINE."

i have hit another wall of writer's block 🥴 all part of the process right??
