"Oh I have uh..." Merlin dug through his pockets and emptied them onto the table. "Lint." He held it up and then dropped it, batting it away. "Biscuit. Part of one. Piece of stone for if I have to write something. It leaves marks." He scribbled the stone across his palm and it left a dark chalky trail. Unrolling a cloth, he pointed at the leaves and flowers he'd gathered. "Nettle. For medicine. Or tea." He puffed out a breath and then shrugged.

Merlin's a switch. He can be very domineering if the mood strikes him but sometimes he would rather not be the all-powerful one.

Sorry, I don't. I think it's because while he's incredibly important to Merlin's backstory, I don't think he'd be a good partner for Merlin. He gives off Gale (a la hunger games) vibes.
