This 68 ft. granite monument stands as testament to one man's ego. Fancher was a wealthy rancher in Merced, California. In his last will and testament he set aside $25,000 to be used only for building a monument in his memory. "Mother and Son" Sometimes it amazes me how much I love these people and dear friends. I have known this woman since she was 18 or so and we hit it off as partners in a music class in college. Since that day I have watched her grow and struggle, eat bacon for the first time, suffer from ass cramps, laugh and play games, join in a group boob circle, shave her head, smoke and drink for years - which tried to take her out more than once, battle various illnesses, and still come out on top each day and she has repayed me by always being a friend and allowing me to journey and vicariously share in her family life by allowing me to document her during her pregnancy, birth, and birthday's of her child. I love this photo that I did for little A's first birthday set and it warms my heart to have now seen her grow into an real mother.
