Do you have any fluffy irondad-spiderson headcanons for your mer-peter au?
Okay so i have tons but here is a select 5
- First off, Mer!Peter is not a naive, confused by the surface world precious little baby in my view. Yes, he’s fascinated by the surface world but he is not completely naive. He knows about quite a lot of things, mostly through just observation and reading. he’s a natural scientist in that regard and its one of the reasons that he and Tony click so well. Peter just adores that Tony knows so much about the world and is so eager to learn, he could listen to Tony go on and on for hours about something as simple as the mechanics of one of his Audis
- On the opposite end of that, when Peter gets enthralled in something and decides to dive in (ADHD Peter is my Peter), Tony will 100% fully enable his curiosity and let him talk and talk and talk about all that he’s learned, even if Tony knows the subject. Peter is such a bright kid, mer or not and seeing his eyes light up its one of his little joys in life
- When peter eventually gets his legs via spoilers, he has to give up a few other traits from his fishy- heritage. One of those traits is his eye color - which went from a lovely gold to a vivid brown reminiscent of a dark oak tree. At first he’s a bit bummed that he’s lost such a trait, but once he realizes that his eyes are the same color as Tony’s he lightens up a little.
- PETER!!! LOVES!!! HUGS!!! Any physical contact, really. As a mer he was always huddled up with may or with others during the winter to stay warm because they’re fish and can’t thermoregulate for the most part - though Peter’s natural body temperature used to skew a little high to accommodate that. Once he’s on land he is just always hugging at people and grabbing peoples hands and standing mayyybe a little too close for comfort. Tony thought he minded but those big adorable eyes melted him immediately (for the record they also wore down Pepper, Rhodey, and even Doctor Strange. The kid is a master at the puppy eyes)
- Tony makes a very very concerted effort to know May and keep her involved with Peter (that is, if she doesn't’ come to land with Peter) and while she’s grateful, she’s also skeptical of him and kind of thinks that its his fault Peter wanted to be on the surface in the first place - and she’s not completely wrong there. But then she met Ned and realized that hey, Peter knows more than one human, maybe they’re not all bad.
