I know fem Shep is a badass and all, but there's something so special to me about male Shep being that soldier that never shows vulnerability, that is expected to be that Tough Military Dude™, the Tough Man because he's a MAN™, yet when there's Kaidan, he's soft, he's vulnerable, he worries, he would do anything for him. the life of the entire human race is on Shep's shoulders but look. there's Kaidan. he can't do it without Kaidan. Kaidan has to be okay.
I don't know, there's something SO special to me about mshenko.
like, if male Shep was allowed to be canonically shipped with Garrus, those are two badass dudes. a power couple in a sense that nothing can break them. you don't need to ask Garrus if he'd go with you, he will.
and I'm not saying Kaidan won't, but Kaidan has a different personality (and that's totally OK). I feel like Kaidan is more sensitive? stubborn as hell? he's got an Opinion? he loves Shepard but the way both Kaidan and Garrus react to the events of ME2 shows their differences. which, again, is totally fine, but it's a very important distinction.
so yeah. when Shep and Kaidan make up in ME3 after everything that's happened, I really like how tentative John Shepard is about/to Kaidan. I genuinely think the player should have been allowed to romance Kaidan as male Shep from the first game. (also, I kinda ship John with Garrus but oh well. the home of the phobia.)
