#mendmay2020 Day 21 FRONT/BACK The sock that goes from FRONT to BACK is bugging me. It’s too socky. I sewed it on during the #mendmarch2020 Zoom meetup. Showing the BACK of what I’ve been using as the top edge of the #crazyquilt It gets a lot of wear and tear from pulling on it while getting cozy. Also showing how I tied the corduroy backing with rayon yarn (still have more on the cone!). Got the yarn in 1982 for a weaving project. #mendmay2020 Day 5 NOWHERE TO GO I had combined bits from this shirt and skirt on the #crazyquilt (photo 2, not totally stitched yet) and thought I’d see how they look together for @nancysstyle and @shelbeeontheedge #goodbuygoodbye challenge. So here I am, making up outfits with NO PLACE TO GO. You might remember the skirt mend from #mendmarch2020 and the shirt rehab from #mendmarch2019 Nancy and Shelbee’s challenge theme this month is Pre-Loved Items. The shirt came from @suzannecarillo Etsy, the skirt from a blogger clothing swap in 2012, the clogs from @poshmark The leggings are @betseyjohnson from the early 80s, and they might as well be pre-loved. Haha. The skirt is still not in a final state - the color/print looks bad against my bare skin (hence the leggings). I’m going to add some sort of binding at the hem. #mendmarch 3.31: MENDFULNESS What is more #mendful than a Zoom with #mendmarch2020 people? Started (and ended) with my iPad on my pillow. During the Zoom, I reclined on the #crazyquilt using my feet as supplementary props. After I said my piece, I got upright again and mended while listening! #mendmarch 3/30: ENDLESS would be the mends on the #crazyquilt I said it last year, and I say it again. And will say it in 2021, no doubt. Today I patched the obvious hole where the stuffing was revealed by the shredded duck print patch. But there are neighboring areas to be sewn.
