#mendsday DENIM I shot these DENIM shorts that have been absorbed into the #crazyquilt for today’s prompt and noticed there was a hole developing at the rivet. #mendingtime I test drove the @coatsandclark metallic thread for some #kintsugi stitching and it went well. No knotting! Yay!
mendmarch 28 DARN/FARM Well, DARN it, the closest I have to FARMy mends are produce related patches on the Crazy Quilt. . The potato patch (rim shot) was indeed purchased in Idaho. Summer ‘95 road trip. . The Sugar Beet patches are OG vintage patches from the first round of #patchwork Most likely I got them from @sacerlew ‘s mom in the ‘70s. I got a bunch of scraps from her. Sewists always save the scraps.
#mendmarch 14 BENDS I sewed this sock that BENDS around the top edge of the Crazy Quilt during last year’s Zoom mender meetup hosted by @visiblemend Ever since, it has sent me around the BEND! The heel of the sock, I just don’t like how it looks. Today, I mended the visual problem, covering it with a new patch of my Agapanthus print from Spoonflower. @spoonflower strike-off swatches make great patches! Finished the Scrap Diary I’m making of the #crazyquilt I’m stitching bits of the new patches and the old ones being covered onto a piece of denim. Though the diary is filled, I’m still mending the quilt. I guess I’ll start another “page”.
