Wow, good question. I like my name, but I don't like people calling me by my REAL one. I think Daniela doesn't suit me at all, I'm not mature enough for it. I prefer Dani or Dana. As for my other name, Ioana, only 4 people call me that, so I tend to forget that it's also my name :3

Depends on what I want at that moment. Sometimes it's clothes (although not too often), other times movie tickets :3

I’ve kept this ask in my inbox until now because I wanted to write a fic based on an idea it gave me before releasing it into the wilderness which is my blog, but my fic backlog is o v e r f l o w i n g already, and I thought it would be rude to withhold a reply just because I’m lazy I don’t have enough hours in the day to write.

I agree with your ideas entirely and am secretly glad we found each other and that you’re talking to me about this stuff because it proves N. and I are not insane, hahaha!

HMMM well (and this is obv personal headcanon territory) Sauron doesn’t strike me as a second-thoughts kind of character (so once he’s set down a path there are no regrets), but I do think at least in the beginning Melkor would’ve tried to get Mairon’s attention at the very least, though I can’t really imagine why (maybe he was unwittingly seduced by Mairon first AHAHahah that would be great).

1) I have actually not read a lot of Silmarillion fics. I can’t actually name a single one other than Loyalty Unyielding, haha. I tried to keep away because when it comes to writing, I’d rather not let myself be influenced by the way other people handle the characters/events, if that makes sense? Especially in a fandom like the Tolkien fandom, which has a more popular section of fic topics (LotR, The Hobbit), and a somewhat smaller section (Simarillion). BUT IF YOU THINK I SHOULD READ SOMETHING, of course I will always take suggestions~ c:

2) SAURON AND MELKOR, hoooo-boy. Any particular part of their long history together you might want to discuss?

I wrote that modern AU Akallabeth oneshot, and I intend to make it even better (currently treating it as a rough draft, really), and I also want to write about the things leading up to it, if I can, where Melkor is an inextricable presence in Mairon’s earlier life, someone to look up to, and so on.

I’m always rubbish at bringing up headcanons out of the blue unless people ask various questions but here’s one thing I am somehow imagining:

As a Maia, Sauron has really long, really bright golden hair (and Melkor’s is a blinding white/platinum), but it dulls down the further he falls under Melkor’s influence, until it settles into a dark amber, though he can fake other colours, of course (like when he’s trying to sucker Elves into forging rings for him and stuff). He thinks the colour is rather nice (and Melkor likes it well enough so all is well).

When Ar-Pharazon takes him in, he crudely chops off most of his hair, and that does nothing but piss him off, because after Melkor’s gone and most of Sauron’s plans fail, his hair (and its colour, a nice subtle shade of sin and evil and temptation) is one thing he can definitely still be proud of. But then Ar-Pharazon attempts to dominate him in whatever ways he can, and he goes too far, and what started out as a plan to have a nation of Men doing his bidding turns into wanting to wipe out said nation of Men, and well……………that doesn’t go over too well with the Valar.

And that’s one weird headcanon I have, that I’ll carry over into my modern AU thing as well, because I’m too attached to it now.

Like, I have a huge interest in the philosophy of time (especially when it comes to phenomenology), so Jon sort of simultaneously terrifies/intrigues me, and idk, I just feel like the writers of Before Watchmen just didn't entirely get there, you know?

I mean, I love the idea of the difference between possibility and actuality - the way that absolutely every moment has endless possibilities spinning outward from it, but that there's only one actuality (at least in this particular universe).  The idea that Jon can see that but can do nothing about it - maybe he can even see other possibilities in other possible universes (and certainly if there are infinite possibilites in any given moment there could also be infinite universes) but they remain as unreachable to him as they are to us - ugh, I can't get enough of it. 

But still, only what happens happens.  And that's as true for Jon as it is for any of us.
