Memory Park - May 2023 Memory Park, in Ajo, Arizona, includes a wall on which there are many images and stories from Mexican Town and Indian Village, which were two company towns that were active while the mine was working. Both sites were consumed by the mine as it expanded in the 1950s. I found the images and stories interesting, but what I wanted to capture in this image is this massive white birch tree. To reach this height and girth, this tree must be at least 50 to 75 years old. MWM

Memory Park || Elena & Jessie
Jessie had got to the park first. The park was so empty compared to how it used to be when they were kids. The girl took a seat on one of the swings and just looked around herself. She could take so many memories from this one place. It was sweet actually. Her eyes moved to a tree that stood in the middle of the park. She remembered when her, Elena and Jeremy had climbed up there and knowing Jessie, she would find some way to get stuck up there. Her shoes got stuck on to a branch and she was dangling there until Jeremy could run back to the Gilbert house and get help. Jessie was just laughing the whole time and Elena had been on the floor nearly in tears at how funny it was.
