I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF THE

*Every shy person has though rare moments when they are able to buckle down and handle business. It’s actually a bit easier when that business involves adopting some adorable lamia friends. It doesn’t hurt that Poff is manning the front desk while Honey snoozes in the chair, drooling a bit on some paperwork. Quietly, so as not to wake the puppypapri, you tell his skelepupper brother that you like an anxiety noodle, a memeson, and a long puppy. He gives you a quizzical look, but the chuckles coming from the anti-venom fridge tell you that your descriptions have found a fanbase.

*One full-sized (and just a bit chonky, not that you mind) Corny emerges from the Corny nest. “if i’m a memeson, does that make you my meme-mom?” You giggle a little and pick him up. He immediately dozes off in your arms, whispering (though he appears to be asleep): “anxiety noodles are in the back left corner...”

*You make your way to the play pools according to your new memeson’s directions. After petting and scritching some affectionate anxiety noodles, you spot a full-sized one who is eyeing your bag. Deliberately looking in another diraction, you set the bag down, making sure the opening is facing the shy Krait. You see him slowly slither his way in, and with a little pop the “sleeping” Corny vanishes. You hear him a moment later from inside your bag: “hey anxiety noodle” followed by a happy little laugh from the Krait.

*You’re disappointed but not surprised that you’re not feeling the SOUL call of a long puppy (Chain). You only realized that you wanted to adopt one on your way here. You know Chains can often be found searching for the SOUL that calls to them, and the Chain whose SOUL matches yours may still be far away. You trust that he’ll find you though, so you fill out some (thankfully not drooled on) adoption forms for your Krait and Corny and head home. It’s still early so you decide to show the lamias where the diamond mine is and see if they are interested.

*You start to feel it the closer you get to the mine. A feeling in your SOUL like coming home to some place safe and happy. You follow the sensation... and end up outside the diamond mine. You look around. You can feel your SOUL thrum from the proximity of the Chain. There he is! He’s slithering out of the mine, looking left and right with excitement gleaming in his eyelights. His cheekbones are smudged with dirt. Your eyes meet his, and your SOULS connect. He slithers up to you (full-sized... so big!) and gives you something. Is it a diamond? No. It’s something better. It’s a black geode dotted with diamond dust. It’s the most beautiful stone you’ve ever seen.

*You thank him with an offer to go home with you for a bath, a snack, and some snuggles- an offer he happily accepts. Long puppy acquired, and he couldn’t be more perfect.

Dear Son 

Happy New Year to the spawn who is dear to me @970901k​. You keep exposing me for being heartfelt and touching to you, which is okay cause I’m gonna end up doing it anyways probably. Thanks for being part of life you adult fetus and I miss ya when you’re gone but you will always continue to be the best. And you know I’m here for you. 

I love you even if you tried to sneak off that one time. Grow well this year and keep working hard. Continue not listening to Jin hyung and throwing insults his way because it’s the type of comedy I live for and he called you a literal piece of shit. Let’s have a great and happy new year son.
