The thing i love the most about Splatoon is all the tiny details
A lot of them go completely unnoticed by most people so iâm gonna list my faves:
When you walk in ink, it sticks to your shoes for a while
Moving in squid form will spread a bit of ink in the area close to you
The buttom of Marinas tentacles flop and roll when sheâs excited
Pearls crown bounces off her head when she jumps
The ink actually sparkles! At least in singleplayer
You can hear Callie singing in some of the songs in Octo Canyon
Callie and Marie dance differently, with Callies moves being shorter and more energetic, and Maries being slower and smoother (especially her hands, the finger movement is sooo good)
The window to Off The Hooks studio is actually filled with small OTH logos. (The tiny squid and octopus)
The Inkopolis Square music changing depending on which location youâre in front of.
The dialogue in the last boss fight, changing when playing it the second time
When talking to Marie after completing the singleplayer campaign, her dialogue will change. This includes âWhere did Callie run off to?â when coming out of a course
The pattern on Octoling and Inkling tentacles being different, with Octolings having no circles on top of the gradient.
How even the conversations while presenting the stages contribute to the lore and fleshing out the characters
How so much care was put into each model, like being able to see the zippers on Pearls shoes move.
When you walk into the Jellyfish (or the Blobfish in Octo expansion), youâll be bounced back and hear a little sound effect
Player posts appearing as graffiti on the walls
