Another thing I wanted to do was show a very intentional, loving relationship between them. There's so much great content in the incest trope of perversion, guilt/shame, corruption, etc but for these two it felt more natural to explore a different side of the coin. Like almost every area I listed is flipped on its head in this fic: instead of perversion, they feel it's natural; instead of feeling guilt, they approach it shamelessly; instead of corruption, it's mutally agreed on.

I think one of the things that made this work is the HC of Mel having a different relationship to her body and touch than allosexuals. Like in this fic she's not super interested in sex but she still likes making other people feel good, so she's happy to be touched or have sex if her dad wants to but won't seek it out for herself. I also really liked the HC that she also enjoys being touched her anywhere on her body and not just traditionally "sexual" areas because of how her body processes sensory input.

In contrast, Jack is a very physical person in this fic but he doesn't always intend his physical touches to be sexual even if he's touching sexual areas or doing sexual acts. He's almost the opposite of Mel in that way, while also the same? Like he wants to touch Mel all the time (opposite) but the touches are less about sex and more about connecting (same). So I think in this 'verse he's aspec too in the sense that he's a very "fuck your friends" kinda person but he also isn't really having sex for the sex, but more for bonding? He's also a very sensory seeking in this fic where he wants to have as much touch and as many different sensations as possible and as often as he can.
