Reading about vulture bees/carrion bees (bees from the Trigona genus that feed on rotting meat). Getting increasingly annoyed at almost every post and website using this photo:
This is NOT a vulture bee. There are three known species of vulture bees: Trigona crassipes, Trigona necrophaga, and Trigona hypogea. Takes a single reverse image search to show the photo above is Trigona spinipes. Belongs to the same genus but does not feed on carrion like the three vulture bee species.

Wish people making informative posts would do more than take the first image that shows up, without even checking if it's the same animal. Yes, there is very little information about these bees in English. Most seems to be in Portuguese. But I could easily check this without knowing the language.
