On the other side of the Doctrine is price of defiance. To refuse, ignore or otherwise disobey orders from the Melilian Armed Forces for no clear cut reason is a death penalty to be carried out immediately. This has led to the event known as the “Silent Panic” where a subsector is informed of an incoming curfew, to empty the streets within a certain timeframe. There is very little speaking, just a silent rush as everyone focuses on doing just that, for none of them wish to be out on the streets when the tracks start approaching.

Captain Cirus Softly A man made for the Melilian Armed Forces, Captain Softly served in the 1st Royal Armoured Regiment. Whilst a Lieutenant, he was in command of the First Tank Troop to receive the Solar Main Service Tank, as part of its service trial. During Operation Fortunate Bulwark, Lt. Softly's Company Commander was killed after the non-Melilian Infantry Supporting them routed, allowing the Ork Horde to overrun the friendly lines. Acting quickly, Softly took command and managed to organise a fall back that saved the Company. With these efforts, he was promoted to Captain. Recently, Captain Softly was transferred to a special group, becoming the Tank Troop Commander of PROJECT: BISHOP

Of course, not everything was fine and dandy on Melilia, for no place truly is. One major concern is the Melilian Independence Movement, a group dedicated to seceding from the Imperium and recalling all their forces home. The Imperium knows of this movement, but it was quite tiny and absolutely powerless. However, as time passed, the movement became more popular, both with civilians and those in positions of power. The Imperium is growing slightly concerned, as this movement has been very quiet, not voicing their discontent for quite some time . . .

The Bastion Infantry Support Tank is a unique tank in a couple of ways. Firstly, the tank was not designed with the role of supporting infantry, but with the role of threat elimination. Some would argue that this was similar to the Solar tank, but this is not the case, as although target elimination was a vast focus, the Solar's ability to work alongside Infantry and support them as was expected by the Melilian Infantry, was also a very heavy focus. The Bastion, however, was built to be able to be hit hard and hit harder. Secondly, was the availability of these tanks. For the first time, in a move that was quite surprising to Melilians and any Imperial Observers, the Bastion tank was deployed to newly raised Defensive Tank Regiments. Just like the rest of the Melilian Defence Forces, these DTRs were to protect Melilia from any and all threats, and the raising of these Regiments allowed the Melilian Guard's Tank Regiments to be deployed in other theatres of war. The Bastion Tank itself was quite similar to any other Infantry Support tank, being heavily armoured and mobility being a tertiary concern. Like the Solar Tank, the Bastion mounted a cannon similar to the Vanquisher Cannon, although the Bastion's armament was upsized and specially designed for the tank itself - something which would have been a logistical nightmare if it were to be attempted with the Solar. The tank was also fitted with a Combat Control Suite, which provided a live tactical analysis map of the immediate area, which includes friendly and hostile markers for each and every tank, as well as allowing tank Commanders to mark their plans for visual analysis, mark enemies or other positions of interest and further coordinate beyond what another tank Company may be able to do.

The B85 Autogun is the Melilian Armed Forces Designated Main Service Rifle. The B85 is part of a family of weapons that provide their forces with ample firepower whilst not sacrificing mobility. The bullpup nature means no penalty in close quarters situations such as FIBUA. Slowly, but surely, the B85 is being replaced by the E85, an identical but Las variant. However, due to not being a forge world, the process is slow.

Melilians have had a cause to celebrate recently, as the Melilian Armed Forces have finally achieved their goal of making the Solar tank their new Main Service Tank. The Infantry Support Tank is set to be supplied to new Armoured Regiments, whilst Regiments already fielded will be receiving them as replacements for any other Infantry Support tanks that are sadly lost. Even with so few numbers, the Solar was a game changer in battle, and the Melilian Armed Forces are confident hat this will only ever increase.
