She would probably still go through that phase of "Marry me!" When she's really really young. Ban doesn't think much of it in the moment bc he doesn't know Jericho yet (i mean she's like idk 4 during that phase?)

When Mel starts training her, Ban remembers her though, and often sits somewhere close by where he can see her training. One day, Mel asks him to help with her training and they properly meet and get acquainted.

She's impressed by his skills and wants to train with Ban more often, and Bans affection for her starts to grow. She's still kind of a brat tho lmao, but when Mel is busy, she does tend to follow Ban around just like his sister used to, asking him to show her something or to train with her. At first, Ban tells to “scram”, but eventually he relents and does show her some tricks that she can do and gives her pointers.

One time, some boy had an eye for Jericho when the sins were still with the kingdom (so Jericho and the boy were both still kids), and Ban and Mel immediately noticed and watched everything he did to make sure he was being honest with Jericho. Their protectiveness only intensified when he actually approached her and “asked her out” (so like a playdate or something) and it went well at first, some friendship-y stuff happened and they lay off of the guy a little. But as time went on, Meliodas noticed that Jericho showed up to training with Gil a lot less, and she wasn’t bugging Ban as often as she used to. Even Jerichos own older brother was starting to wonder and went to the two sins despite most likely being extremely scared of them (or at least Ban). So they investigate, and while he’s not being mean to her, he does pressure her to stay with him, and she does because she likes him as a friend or doesn’t want to be rude or something along those lines. Even when she leaves the house in the morning, the guy is always there already waiting for her, which does strike them as creepy, so the two sins start to wait in front of her house as well and take her to training or safety, point is, away from him. In the end, she reveals to them that she didn’t like him that much and was starting to get annoyed with him, but due to his older brothers (or another reason of the sorts) didn’t want to be mean to him. The next day, they accompany her to him and she tells him how she truly feels (meaning that she doesn’t like him) and his brothers, not noticing that Mel and Ban are two of the Seven Deadly Sins, start to show up like “you can’t talk to him that way, we’ll show you” (or something along those lines). She throws the first punch, making the biggest one stumble, so they all come at her at once, and that’s when Ban and Mel intervene (either both or just one of them, however you like it best). It ends with the brothers running for the hills and Mel and Ban continuing to threaten them if they ever come close to Jericho again. Ever since that day, she really starts to appreciate Ban as an older brother and Ban realizes that he really does think of her as a little sister of sorts.
