I like how kusanagi is building the paring of suwon & lili without discarding Yona and what happened between her and suwon, as a woman, if I insert myself into Yona i wouldn't like it either to see my bestie with the killer of my father, That’s exactly why it's important to see yona and suwon comforting e/o and to focus on how will the wound between the trio of him and hy will heal, and funny enough how that's what lili hate the most, the betrayals. Herein lies her role as the cornerstone in restoring the relationship between them. She is not a character that Kusanagi created to blindly follow Suwon or to stand beside him or validate his grudges without understanding him, She’s positioned as someone who could become the emotional cornerstone in repairing what was destroyed, not by ignoring the past, but by confronting it. and this is what I loved most about her character.
And i think that kusanagi already made this clear with Minyan. Soowon rejected her because she wanted to stay by his side by sharing and amplifying his resentment. This proves that the best female counterpart for Suwon, the one he will be drawn to is not someone that feeds his hatred for his former friends (aka hating on Yona simply cuz she's Hiryuu that both hated), or by seduction itself, which is the red flag about men in Lily's case as well (btw i like Minyan this is not to hate on her but I think Kusanagi created her to show many things about Suwon as well). After all of this development, a potential Soowon and Lili relationship would feel earned and emotionally coherent. And honestly i feel that Yona will have a role in bringing them together.
I also find it fascinating how Soowon and Minyan contrast e/o regarding the Crimson illness, which I have come to believe is activated by suppressing feelings or rejection. This explains why Soowon got sick with it so early (he's a pro in suppressing his true emotions), unlike Meinyan, who is very clear about what she feels & she's emotionaly transparent, that i believe she got the illness after her and Val were separated or when he rejected her (we can say that he did not reciprocate her feelings at that moment yet).
