Fire, water, air, and dirt,
And fuckin magnets! How do they work?
But I believe Aang can save the world
The way the AkaYona Gaiden chapters were framed almost made me believe that there are indeed some spin-off ideas being thrown around. Nene, for example. A character who only appeared very briefly and already had my gears turning. Introducing Lili's MOM at this point? And she knew Gigan? Girl, come back here, where you going?
Nene operates in the merchant line of work. She's obviously able to move freely around, gets updates on what's happening, is able to attend big matters like coronations due to her actual status, isn't necessarily disliked by her daughter, is greatly missed by her estranged cheating husband, and she's still far removed from everything. When Lili was on the gallows, her mother didn't cross her mind at all.
Lili can't forgive her father for treating Nene the way he did, but in the end she wasn't allowed to follow her mom as the child of their union. Perhaps it was the obvious choice, given the path Nene chose. She may or may not have swung by to visit Lili during her exile from the Water capital, and we may never know. What complicated feelings Lili has for Nene may forever be left to the imagination.
There's the Earth Clan dynamic. Geuntae's successor was given just enough life that you could see him as being a regular part of the supporting cast. Talgu made one more cameo appearance as Geuntae left on a final note with Suwon hoping he could live long enough to bring him up as a strong young man. Which just screamed "AkaYona: Next Gen" to me.
There's the reformation of administrative governance that Yona, Keishuk, and Suwon are sorting through. There's the future role that Hak is, at present, unknowingly setting the precedent for. There's Zeno who never got to reunite with Kaya above the skies. Northern nomads are still threatening Kai, and with South Kai previously being the more stable of the two fragments of the empire now being considerably weaker, they're even more vulnerable now. Which means Kouka's going to be all the more vulnerable while they rebuild as well.
A spin-off wouldn't have the fantastical element of the dragons and gods to help carry it, but I always thought the main story could take or leave this aspect for like 1/3 of the story anyway.

ngl when it comes to every discourse about misogyny in fandom and shipping and media and what not im still gonna ultimately prioritize how u actually interact with and talk about the real women here
*feministly* u dumb cocksucking male obsessed stupid whore with nothing but dick on ur useless hag brain. i think u should be dogpiled
i just think there is a lot of disingenuous thinly veiled fandom agenda motivated feminism posting
relax
what i hate about ts is how insidiously it frames the sentiment that women's intellectual and emotional lives r fundamentally centered on men as the primary object. it cannot be self-generated and driven by an analytical passion for something, any interest or analysis is psychologized and dismissed as really being about a desire for a man or male approval. it is condescending as all hell and doesnt take women’s intellectual agency seriously. god forbid u r impassioned by specific ideas, themes, and complexities for their own sake, u r just male centered and blinded by dick. men are not subjected to this
and i personally give credence to many analyses regarding how patriarchy may shape and affect individuals’ (including women) relationship to women in fiction in these spaces, the interest in their interiority, and the difference in standards with which they are engaged with as opposed to the oppressor gender class that is often categorized as the “default”, as well as critically examining people’s implicit biases, but i see so much insidious, disingenuous, bad-faith analysis + misogyny in the shapes that this takes, and how it is weaponized and distorted by bad-faith actors or individuals with reactionary transmisogynistic politics
._.
man enjoys being big spoon more than anyone i've ever seen
I read little mushroom and it might have infected me
I cannot believe degendering pregnancy is a controversial topic. idk how it is in the west, but when I went to a doctor, told her that I'm pregnant and I needed to do blood tests and many other things she laughed at me and said smth like: "you a 180cm grownass man pregnant??? honey, pregnancy is for those who are women. if you're a mentally ill trans then you can visit a psychologist instead", and I told her that I'm intersex but she was like "not pregnant, *h slurs* are sterile and can't get pregnant, especially if they're a man like you are." I saw 6 different doctors and I was mocked by all of them, until my partner somehow made one of them listen, and she saw that I really was pregnant and being intersex didn't make me "sterile." if pregnancy was degendered and was replaced with neutral language I'd have easier time accessing healthcare. and now that I did, the doctors are still confused and they're like "yeahhh, they never taught us how to treat defects like you so let us treat you like we would treat *normal pregnancy.*" first of all why are you calling a human being a defect, and secondly, do you treat EVERY pregnant woman you see the same way? there are different kinds of pregnancies. not every pregnancy is the same. different people have different complications and needs. why do you treat intersex pregnancy as something impossible that cannot be helped and monitored. especially for pregnant intersex men (or phenotypical "man", idk how to say it). the medical system makes you feel horrible for being intersex and pregnant intersex man. they'll either deny your healthcare or they'll abuse you and force you into womanhood even when you never lived it.
I wasn't originally planning to add anything, but I need to add more
I'm his partner. I'm also intersex. and my face looks "too feminine", so let me tell you, the medical system doesn't take any of us seriously. while he was being abused for being a pregnant man and they called him a "mentally ill trans", I was getting laughed at for having long hair and for "not looking manly enough." we had doctors telling us to abort the fetus because we would fail being parents. they said that the child needs traditional mother and father, not "mentally ill defected anomaly parents who will make the child ashamed of being born." doctors did everything to make us feel awful about ourselves, however we know how bad intersexism, transphobia and queerphobic in general is in our country and we decided to ignore them. we're getting a lot of hate from people, mainly medical system and they're trying to "fix" us so that the child can have traditional mother and father. Gatsi would become a mother and woman, and I'd be a father and a man. people find it too hard to be normal about male pregnancy, and it's even worse if you're intersex because they'll tell you to abort your baby to your face because "you're a defect who will birth a defected child like you." (and there's additional transphobia because they immediately assume you that you're a "mentally ill trans", and while we both identify as agender it's still sickening how they treat him)

So the photographer guy is Umeda's ex????
So, I did some research and apparently, Akiha's VA Showtaro Morikubo voiced Nakatsu in the Hana-Kimi drama CD back in 2000.
This means that this is the second drama CD VA to return for the anime; the first being Koyasu who reprised his role as Himejima.
