i jumped the shark and got on pergo early, everyone else i played with during the day was doing it, but now my guild (people i know IRL) is going D: at me, and IRL people are what keep me playing games, the only thing stopping them is that they would lose all the stuff they built up and saved for for the guild. will guild RealmTF being happening before MegaSever or is MS closer then we think and i should put up with the worlds loneliest realm sever for now
You can transfer back to the realm with your guildies after a 7-day wait period. :)

[REQUEST] HOME INVASION! -- CROSSFACTION VISITORS
PLEASE PLEASE REBLOG!! This was suggested by Sindra on WSRP- if we can all rally around this thread on the Wildstar forums, maybe wildstaronline will listen.
We've beaten the subject to death already but I haven't seen much in the way of any ideas to counter the problems it brings. The biggest problem we're going to have is that it makes cross faction RP more painful than giving yourself a root canal, so this is what I see is going to be the most at risk when megaservers go live. Mulling it over, the only real solution I can think of is to lobby Carbine to allow cross-faction housing. We already spend most of our time in player housing already, so megaservers aren't really going to affect us all that much. If we can get Exiles in Dominion housing and Dominion in Exile housing, though, we can keep conflict alive between both sides without making it needlessly painful. But now my whole question is... where do I pitch something like this? There's not a suggestions forum on the WildStar forums. I did find an old post requesting this here, but it never got a lot of attention: https://forums.wildstar-online.com/forums/index.php?/topic/84748-request-home-invasion-crossfaction-visitors/

You've probably gotten asked this many times by now, but would it possible to keep the RP severs separate? I really like the idea of Megasevers but on the side of my PvP main character I enjoy RPing with friends! If it wasn't for the free-world RP I would have left by now. The RP channel will not be enough to separate normal players from RPer's.

For the RP crew,
I’m going to paint the target on my back here and say that, the very, VERY sad truth is that we couldn’t justify a megaserver JUST for RP.
Believe me, I’m gutted. I play on Lightspire myself and have always championed RP communities in MMOs, I’ve played on them in my personal and professional time and always found them to be wonderful places.
We will introduce a new RP Chat Channel, and combined with Circles, Guilds, and Housing I still *genuinely* feel WildStar has a lot to offer an RP Community. But I know many won’t see it that way, will be fearful of sharing a realm with normal gamer folk and this will be upsetting news for them.
I can only apologise and say we did try to consider it, but in the end the cruel math of logistics won out.
Today started meh and ended up entirely frustrating and anger inducing.
Megaservers were announced for Wildstar. As I've said time and time again, the game needs this. Player concurrency is bad and having all the PVE players on one server should correct a lot of the issues like queue times.
The fix means we lose Evindra. This made me meh because I'd be losing the individual server identity I had playing on Evindra. Instead of being on the RP server like I've been on for every game I've player in the past 12 years, I'm on just another PVE server.
Being lumped with every other PVE player in Wildstar is going to at best stunt, at worst kill open world RP.
This is what I've found the most on Evindra out of any other RP server of any game I've been on. This is what I am absolutely sure will be gone come the megaserver merge.
Then there's the griefing. I've seen it happen time and time again. You try to do something open world and Griefer McTrollpants comes by, gets naked and starts /dance in the middle of your RP. Usually, you just roll your eyes and go somewhere else. Sometimes the guy follows you, you report him and always nothing happens. Sometimes you move again, sometimes people give up on the play because now the mood is gone.
It's bad enough on actual RP servers. On one PvE megaserver, roleplayers will be an even smaller percentage, with the trolls even higher. Hell, I've seen entire Youtube channels troll rp servers, now they don't even have to roll a level one alt.
Nothing will be done. Not because Carbine doesn't care, but because they can't care. They got their hands full right now.
Thank the gods you can still get around it with housing. But that doesn't make it one iota less shitty. So don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining... then tell me it's my fault its raining because I have a godsdamned umbrella. Self fulfilling prophecy my right foot.
That's where I got frustrated, mad, and just downright discouraged. I wanted to commiserate and get comfort from fellow Rpers because while we weren't losing our community, this can't be seen as anything but a setback.Hopefully temporary, but definitely a setback.
Instead, I was told it's my fault I've had open world RP trolled. Somehow, negative thoughts I never had made someone I have zero control over stop whatever it was they were doing, roll a level one alt on my server with thousands of their Youtube buddies and make the server crash, ruining the event. It's my fault for believing something I didn't know would happen, never even dreamed could happen. But it's my fault.
Tomorrow, I'd be fine and ready to move forward. Ready to make Merribelle's tea house a reality sooner than later. Tomorrow I was going to do what I could to make our community stronger and more ready for the merge.
Today? Today I just needed my server and they weren't there. People who not really long ago were lamenting about how their events got pushed out of the way were now telling me to put my Big pants on.
Tomorrow will be fine. Today fucking sucks.

Bookahneer's Geekwatch: Post Feature-Patch #GuildWars2
Welcome to Bookahneer’s Geekwatch! The place about miscellaneous interesting news and rants related to Guild Wars 2 – and on occasion, other games.
Today’s Geekwatch is all about Guild Wars 2. With the recent feature patch, ArenaNet introduced quite a lot of changes. I will not go into everything they have added here now or bore you with what I think about every single feature. Instead, I will…

While I just posted about my personal problems with the forthcoming megaserver system in GW2, this week's Relics of Orr episode covers the other potential issues - including guild missions and the lack of a 'district' system. Kate (that's spiritface) does a great job at articulating these things pretty much for the five-minute mark onwards.
The episode lasts just over an hour and contains a lot of great content for anyone who, like me, is a little cautious about the megaserver system.
They also mention last Saturday's The World Vs. Orr too at the end! And play that cool video. Although it is the audio version of the podcast so you can't see it... but it's still cool!
I'd recommend putting it on and zerging around the Edge of the Mists for an hour. That's what I do anyway.
