The hard part of being shoved is that Vee has started to not expect it. Has started to assume that maybe, just maybe, she would be safe from that sort of handling on Earth. She takes a second to breathe out her nose- shoving down years of bad memories- before slowly pivoting.

Vee, of course, doesn't recognize the two human girls. It's fairly standard procedure by now; Luz Noceda seems to be fairly well-known around town, even if Vee would be hard-pressed to consider it a friendly knowing. And she knows the orange and white colored uniforms are Gravesfield colors. Funny. Vee's never heard of Luz and cheerleaders in the same sentence, especially in the cereal aisle of the local grocery.

"Hello?" she offers finally, not quite sure what to do here. Vee's been watching human cinema in her free time, and has learned of friendship handshakes, and every time someone she doesn't know comes to greet her she's terrified they'll have one. Her fingers rub anxiously in her hoodie pockets.

"Is it true?" the first girl- the one who pushed her?- asks. The second snickers into her hand. "I heard they sent you away to one of those camps that teaches you to be normal."

Vee can't help but think that's a trick question. Yes, the camp had gone a long way in teaching her how humans co-mingled and the various ways they worked together, but she didn't really have proof that she was operating at a 'normal' human capacity, either. 'Normal' humans didn't bask for two hours in the morning or suck magic out of old magician's hats.

"I got really good at talking about the weather," is what she settles on. "And I know what a 401k is."

The girls titter uneasily. "Sounds like it didn't really work," the second says.

Vee narrows her eyes. "I feel like you're mocking me."

"No, no, we're just curious, is all." The first girl waves her hands consolingly. "We didn't know how normal camp would affect the weirdest girl in school. We thought you might have blown up or something!"

(Vee made a mental note to look into the statistics of weird girls exploding later on. Better to be safe than sorry.)

"Mija?" Camila asks, butting into the moment with her cart. She blinks at the girls with confusion as they bristle and skitter away. "What was all that about?"

"I... think they were mocking me?" Vee hums, shrugging. "They weren't really doing a good job at it."

Camila's face crumples. A warm hand ruffled her hair. "I'm sorry, mi culebrita preciosa. Kids can be so mean."

"They weren't making fun of me, me," she clarified. "I think they knew Luz? Or they knew she was 'weird', anyway. It sounded like they talked about her a lot."

"She never mentioned anything about it- them?- to me."

"Yeah, that tracks." Vee nods her head. It's not the first incident she's dealt with, but it is the first time someone tried to single her out in public. "When you get used to something, you tend to forget how bad it actually is."

Yunan and Olivia just walked into the room and heard what mushu said about their kind

Olivia: excuse me

Mushu: *nervously* who said the newts are a bigger than me even in this world

Yunan: *cracks her knuckles*

Molly:~someone made my girlfriend cry doo-da doo-da that's someone is going to die oh de doo-da day don't matter to me if they're family you made her cry you chose to die oh de doo-day HEY~

Marcy: well aren't you going to apologize mom

Mrs.wu: for what

Marcy: *doesn't say anything but dials an increasingly familiar number on her phone* hey grandma

Meaning if odalia tries something at lumity's wedding willow allow to fully freight train slam her
