the feeling side of the mega rings :D
she helped him out <3
*side eye*
it’s sooo funny to me that he decided to make it into a necklace
Show what are your thoughts Lucario mega evolving, and Ash getting a mega ring?
As weird as this sounds, I'm both surprised and not surprised. It's like something that we should've seen coming from a long time, but did't really expect it 100%. I guess the main reason why I didn't totally expect it was because I initially thought Journeys would be specifically Gen. 8-centered (which doesn't have Mega Evolutions), but nowadays, it's plain to see that the series is not just focusing on Gen. 8 aspects, but other content as well, such as Pokemon GO and World Championships.
Anyways, I think it's something to look forward to. Lucario obtaining a Mega Stone would re-emphasize its supposed status as Ash's ace for Journeys, especially since it's been rather out of focus lately and pretty much every single other Pokemon on Ash's team that's not Gengar has additionally done way more impressive things for a while. Obviously, I'm hoping for some well-animated battles with Mega Lucario, like a good redemption match against Bea and maybe a Mega-v-Mega duel against Cynthia and her Garchomp. It could also potentially lead to Lucario showing more character, as well as have him interact more with Ash and any of his teammates, since he's honestly been quite the blank slate since he evolved.
Like, when he was a Riolu, he was cute, ambitious, caring, interactable, an actual character! And nowadays, he's just the same generically stoic Lucario no different from Sir Aaron's, Maylene's, Riley's, Korrina's, Gurkinn's, and Sorrel's. C'mon, man!
One thing I'm really hoping that doesn't get screwed up will be Ash and Lucario's development with Mega Evolution. While Ash himself is obviously deserving of a Mega Ring due to helping in saving Kalos, Misty and Brock already having Keystones of their own, and c'mon guys look how many series of Pokemon we have at this point, it's gonna be incredibly jarring of the two just master the whole ability without any issue. I mean, back at XYZ, we SAW how Korrina and her own Lucario struggled with mastering Mega Evolution. At least something remotely similar should be done with this. If they just mastered it automatically, then it would just feel forced and undeserved, just like when Goh and Raboot were hand-gifted a Dynamax Band during the Darkest Day.
This is the art I made of me as a Pokemon trainer! My first game was X, then ORAS, then SM/USUM, and then Sword, so that's kinda the basis for the following:
Jacob was born in the Kalos region, and lived there for a few years. He got a Mega Ring and a Jaw Fossil as a going away present when he moved to Alola at the age of eight.
On Melemele Island (his new home), Hacob quickly became friends with Hau, another kid his age. When they reached fourteen years of age, they started their Island Trials while Kukui began building the League. He met many strange characters, and met wonderful people as well.
He stopped Necrozma from stealing Alola's light, and helped rebuild Ultra Megalopolis, the Aether Foundation, and Team Skull (Jacob became an honorary admin because of this)
Pokemon caught in Alola:
Decidueye - Ronin
Talonflame - Apollo
Mega Venusaur - Dionysus
Mega Gyrados - Jormungandr
Tyrantrum (shiny) - Hades
Mimikyu - Doodle
Raichu- Maui
Vikavolt - Artemis
Golisopod - Guzma
Noivern - Murcielago
Solgaleo - Nebby
Necrozma
Naganadel
On a vacation trip to Hoenn, Jacob played a role in the stopping of Team Magma's schemes to bring out Groudon. He helped May take down the group, and then he helped Zinnia summon Rayquaza to take out the meteor holding Deoxys.
Pokemon caught in Hoenn:
Mega Rayquaza
Deoxys
Back in Alola, at 18 years of age, Jacob decided to give up his Champion title to Hau in order to try out the Galar League. Gladion, now the CEO of the newly refurbished Aether Foundation, gave him the last Type: Null. As organized before he left, Jacob stayed with a distant cousin of Hau's, Hop. Hop helped him learn and explore the cultures of Galar in preparation for the tournament, which is for adults to participate in. He starts his journey, catches new Pokemon, makes new friends in Sonia, Gloria, Hop, and Leon, and even starts dating Marnie after a fierce battle outside Spikemuth. After defeating Mr. Rose and catching Eternatus, Jacob becomes Champion of the Galar League. He is invited to The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra, where he goes to further his Pokemon journey, preparing for the next adventure.
Pokemon caught in Galar:
Gigantamax Cinderace - Darren
Gigantamax Sandaconda - Apophis
Silvally - Gladion

Snom (x50)
Arctozolt - Ghidorah

Jacob has been hailed as the strongest Champion in Galar, a region who has consistently put out strong champions throughout the years of pokemon battling. Being strong enough to beat Leon, then being trained by former Champion Mustard, and then frequently battling former Champion Steel Peony, a good friend according to the man, certainly has improved on his rating. In fact, in one of his more recent exhibition battles in Kalos, Champion Jacob effortlessly wiped out Champion Diantha's team, her Mega Gardevoir being taken out with a single hit from a 'Let's Snuggle Forever' from his Mimikyu, Doodle.
Being one of the few trainers to utilize all three main styles of alternative battling, those being Mega Evolution, Z-Power, and Dynamaxing, Champion Jacob is a fierce rival. While he is good at strategizing his battles (and he frequently switches out Pokemon when necessary), Champion Jacob prefers using raw force in his moves, blasting through opponents with powerful moves like Earthquake and Sunsteel Strike. The only real threats to him in a restriction-free battle, are Champion Cynthia of Sinnoh and Champion Red from Kanto. Champion Cynthia's Garchomp is the only Pokemon to have taken out Champion Jacob's Tyrantrum: Hades, in a single move. And Champion Red was the only person to last more than thirty minutes in a battle with Champion Jacob, at a time of thirty one minutes; Champion Cynthia from Sinnoh lasted twenty eight minutes. In both battles, the competitors where left with a single pokemon each. They are the only trainers that Champion Jacob calls rivals, though he is adamant that anyone who puts in the amount of work he has could become just as strong.
In a restricted fight, Champion Jacob is still a strong contender. In these fights, Champion Jacob is stuck to one alternative battle form, which he usually chooses based off of where the match is taking place. In these battles, he shines in his ability to strategize, taking the time to set up traps, Leech Seed being a favorite. Poisoning his targets is also a common tactic. One of his most famous restricted fights took place in Kanto, where he faced Former Champion Blue and Champion Red, alongside his longtime friend Champion Hau. This battle was the first time were Champion Jacob showed off his Mega Rayquaza in an official match, the pokemon devastating the opposing team. Only the combined forces of Champion Red's Charizard and Former Champion Blue's Blastoise defeated the Legendary, and the rest of the match ended quickly as Champion Jacob sent out Calyrex to finish them off. After that match, the restricted battles Champion Jacob were festure din only allowed one Legendary Pokemon.
Another strong trainer that Champion Jacob likes to praise is his girlfriend Marnie gave him the most trouble through all his journeys. According to exclusive interviews with Champion Jacob, Marnie could easily become Champion of almost any region she went to, but prefers to stay as a Spikemuth's gym leader and try to knock him off his throne.
Jacob's team often changes in exhibition matches and tournaments, but the following twelve pokemon are those who show up the most, his most common party as the top 6, with an appearance rating of 37%.
Shiny Tyrantrum - Hades
Mega Venusaur - Dionysus
Calyrex
Gigantamax Cinderace - Darren
Silvally - Gladion
Urshifu
Mega Rayquaza
Solgaleo - Nebby
Eternatus
Mimikyu- Doodle
Zacian
Gigantamax Sandaconda- Apophis
Outside of battling, Champion Jacob is still a popular guy. He is often seen in public with his friends, and frequently takes trips to Kalos and Alola with Marnie. Team Skull Leader Guzma is often around the two in Alola, trying to beat the two 'into a pulp' with his Golisopod. He is also featured on several if Gym Leader Klara's songs, apparently he is a good singer.
Here is a list of all of Champion Jacob's known associates:
His mother - Alola
Professor Kukui - Alola
Lillie- Alola/Kanto
Champion Hau - Alola
Aether President Gladion - Alola
Team Skull Leader Guzma - Alola

Pokemon Trainer Gloria - Galar
Gym Leader Marnie - Galar
Gym Leader Bede - Galar
League Chairman Leon - Galar
Dojo Master Mustard - Isle of Armor
Gym Leader Klara - Isle of Armor
Former Champion Peony - Crown Tundra
Champion Jacob is also very friendly, taking a lot of time out of his day to talk to fans and give advice. He frequently let's kids play around with his less dangerous pokemon, and will sometimes give people rides on his Rayquaza. Described as shy but loving attention, he and his Tyrantrum Hades are showcased often in selfies from fans. In fact, the most liked social media image in the world is a photo of him, Champion Cynthia, Gym Leader Marnie, and Team Skull Leader Guzma standing in the mid background of fan's selfie photo. With 4,375,036 likes.
In one interview, Champion Jacob was shown a list that a group of fans had put together. Taken from multiple sources over the years, it showcased the few things that Champion Jacob fears in a battle:
• Team Skull Leader Guzma's Golisopod getting a 'First Impression' hit
• Champion Cynthia's Garchomp
• Champion Red's Charizard
• Gym Leader Marnie's Morpeko changing to its angry form
• Any competitors Legendary Pokemon
• Moves with less than 90% accuracy
• Lillie's angry face when he takes out a Pokemon with an overkill move
• Former Aether President Lusamine's Clefable

I hope you guys like all the backstory I did! A lot of the future stuff in the last section was fun to write! Especially my little headcanons! I love headcanons.
Trainer's Anecdote
The Perfect Diamond Cut
To give some background, this took place before and after I had left Sinnoh to see the rest of the world. Beginning with before I left Sinnoh, I had once visited Oreburgh City to meet Roark for a bit of hard labor experience. My dad suggested the idea to me, believing that working up a little elbow grease will help toughen up both me and my Pokémon. Roark happily invited me into the mines just outside the city, and he even introduced me to the people on the job, some of who were so energetic they challenged me to battle. But then afterward it was time to do some actual work.
With a vest, hard hat and a pick ready, my Lucario, Claire and my Prinplup, Scalder, as well as I, got to work digging out minerals and ore, as well as coal to fuel the city. We were in there for a good four hours, and it only felt like just an hour passed! It definitely gave us the workout we all needed to harden up and hit harder in battle. During our mining session I made the rare discovery of a good chunk of diamond ore, one of two kinds of gems that Sinnoh jewelers are all about! After the day had nearly been done, we finally left the mines to get some fresh air. I was gonna give the diamonds over to Roark to add to his collection of ore samples, but he said that I should keep hold of them and see if I can find someone who can make something pretty out of it. I kind of wasn't sure since I didn't know what I really would have made with the diamond, but never the less I kept it as a sentiment and a souvenir from my homeland.
Fast-forward to sometime after I'd left Sinnoh after my close defeat at the League, crossed Kalos and half explored half of Alola, I went to Konikoni City, which is like a marketplace district full of different interesting shops and stalls. Not only did you have the salon, Pokémon Center, and clothing store, but you also got to see the incense and massaging stalls, and even a TM and herbs shop! It seemed like this place had everything! But above everything else, the one store that had the most buzz was the jewelry shop, owned by Konikoni's own Olivia! Olivia is a big figure in the city, as she is the Island Kahuna of Akala.
Poking my head into the store, I got to see all kinds of pretty stones and accessories that use genuine ores unearthed from every part of the world! Not to mention they carried the stones necessary for evolving Pokémon like Eevee, Pansear, Nuzleaf, and so on. To my surprise they even had a fossil section where you can just buy them as if they were anything else you could get at a special store, which I didn't think was possible!
It all made me think back to the time I once got myself those uncut diamonds from Oreburgh's mining facility, and on top of that it also made me think of the Mega Ring and Keystone I acquired from Korrina in Kalos's Shalour City, at the Tower of Mastery. And putting those two thoughts together finally gave me an idea of what I wanted to do with the diamonds I had sitting in my bag for so long.
I met with Olivia at the counter and made a big request to her, I wanted to see if I could have one of my diamonds cut and attached to my Mega Ring. I had specifically wanted it fixed to the opposite side from the Keystone insert, where the gem would be visible on the palm side of my forearm.
I presented to her the diamonds that came straight from Sinnoh, and she became quite easily enamored by the rough gemstones! Apparently Olivia loved them so much that she said she could make the diamond modification to my Mega Ring free of charge if I let her keep the rest, as the other few or so diamonds would more than cover the cost of cutting and modifying a gem to an accessory, given their regional value and rarity.
I was more than happy to hand them over to her so I could see the job done. Olivia even said she would showcase the other diamonds in her glass encased collection at the front of the store!
Anyhow, Olivia told me that it would take about half a day to get it finished, so I decided to hang around the city until then, passing the time by going to the pier and casting my line out to try and catch some fish. Some of the other fishermen decided to have a little friendly competition with me to see who can catch the biggest fish in under 2 hours. I ended up just shy of a couple inches to first place, but I was still kind of a winner! The first place fisherman decided to reward my second placing with one of Alola's bottle caps, which many people in the region say will bring happiness if you keep one.
Soon enough it was time to go pick up my Mega Ring with the new diamond fixture, and I have to say I was really happy with the result! It made the already snazzy bracelet look 3 times more stylish! I gave Olivia my most heartfelt thanks for the service and went on my way, wait till Roark sees this when I come home!
Extra note: ...I forgot to elaborate on what the diamond means to me! The thought came well after I had made this entry when I was just admiring my bracelet.
The thing is, whenever I look at the diamond, the first thing I think of besides Sinnoh is the legendary Pokémon that gave birth to the flow of time, Dialga. Dialga is depicted with having a massive diamond crested into the chest plating. When I think of it in the sense that I inherit a mere fraction of Dialga's power, I'm washed over with a strong feeling of determination and familiarity. No matter where I am, this diamond will take me back to my original place, mentally that is. And I really have my dad to thank for making this all happen. I'll always treasure this single tiny gemstone!

Finally, I almost forgot about it!
Inktober day 1 / Ring
I like to imagine, after all this is done, she jokingly calls herself Red’s wife.
Though what process all new pokemon in the sanctuary go? I mean, admission procedure, settling in. Do they get medical exam?
Distant arguing in the background can be heard, which quickly turns into obnoxious laughter
[Beeper will temporarily be answering the questions!]
