where do monsters go when they die I mean is there a place for different class monsters like boss monsters and monsters with low attacks?
Hmm, I don't think there would be any difference depending on what class a monster is. Obviously we don't get much information from the game- but the monsters generally believe that spreading the dust of a monster onto their favourite thing (the game specifies thing instead of item, hmm) will allow them to live on through that. Of course it's just a belief and no monster has come back through anything-
Except Flowey.
Considering that Flowey exists with the memories and personality of Asriel, this is true. All they need is a little determination pff.
But there is only 1 Flowey, while Asriel's dust should have logically spread over a larger area. So it seems like even a small amount of their dust can hold everything about them. Or perhaps the determination drew everything about Asriel into Flowey?
Anyway the point is that the dust seems to only spawn one version of the character- it can't have more than one, there are a lot of flowers in the lab, and the entries say how Alphys eventually resorted to injecting everything with Determination. But there is still only 1 Flowey.
To answer the question directly: No, they don't go anywhere. Their dust is waiting for someone with the abilities and knowledge to bring the lost monsters back.
Obviously the monsters have no idea this is possible. So the dust sits on their favourite thing.
I think if Alphys found out who Flowey was, she would research it to see if it could be done for other fallen monsters. The most important thing is that the dust can't just form back into the monster it used to be- so it would need a container.. but then there's the risk of... well, Flowey.
Flowey has a save location, and creating another monster like him would risk this new one having a save location, or worse- a file.
Anyway.
Ruining my first point- maybe this is only possible because Asriel is/was/technically a boss monster. Maybe it wouldn't work for normal or lesser monsters.
It really makes me think about the pet rock that Papyrus seems very intent on feeding, though. Maybe he knows something we don't? (OF COURSE HE DOES)
That's all the information I think I have pff.
Decay
The first free weekend Mulder had after Scully was diagnosed with cancer was spent in the medical section of his local library. He created a mental filing cabinet on everything he could think of that might be useful. Cancer, cell multiplication, the science behind chemotherapy, radiation, and their side effects were all included in his fervent search. Any text that so much as mentioned the name ‘nasopharyngeal tumor’ he hoarded jealously, disheartened at the growing list of ailments that were linked to the mass growing in Scully’s head but determined to put on a brave face.
He has his suspicions, of course, when he notices she is squinting all the time. As big as her eyes are, even as they seem larger since the flesh of her face has been hewn away by chemotherapy, the furrowed look on her face is hard to miss or misinterpret.
It still takes him days to work up his courage to ask her about it. The car humming under his hands is the only accompaniment to his quiet voice. “Scully, do you- are you having trouble reading? Blurry or double vision?”
Her knee-jerk reaction is to shake her head and declare she’s fine, which she does, but the ensuing skeptical silence makes her reconsider. “It’s just...Well, it’s not really ‘just’ anything, is it?” His scrutiny makes her accurate to a fault, and she chooses her words with deliberate precision. “If you must know, Mulder, I’ve been having trouble reading lately. Frankly, it’s difficult to focus my eyes on anything that small for a long period of time.”
Mulder looks at her, tiny in his passenger seat, and it feels like his world has been put on pause. He knew this was a possible side effect, but the literature had all but glossed it over. ‘An effect of the late stages of a nasopharyngeal mass.’ The late stages. For a horrifying minute he processes just how little time he has left with her, and he falls silent.
Scully, for her part, is quick to reassure him. “Don’t worry, I’m still good to work. You don’t have to worry about it.”
How could he not worry about it? Mulder nods and keeps his eyes on the road, not trusting himself to not cry.
Later that night, now checked into their motel, Mulder pads into Scully’s room with two files in hand. She stares at him and the files, little silk pajamas already on, and dips her head apologetically. “I’m sorry Mulder, I just can’t read those tonight.”
He is undeterred, walking over to her bed a little shyly. “I could read them to you, if you want. Out loud.”
She is caught between embarrassment and affection and luckily for Mulder, she acts on the latter, scooting over and patting the bed next to her. “Alright, but I don’t want you falling asleep on me.”
She is asleep just minutes before he finishes reading the second file, his lullaby of autopsy details apparently working like a charm. Mulder watches her a moment, heart feeling fond, before he slips back to his room for another sleepless night.
He isn’t so cautious the next day, plopping on her bed with files in hand and a smile on his face while she’s brushing her teeth. The third day, too, goes much the same, and he finds himself a little sad when the case is solved. Not to be deterred, though, he goes to her room to type up their report.
Scully is quiet as he works, what he assumes is a byproduct of a busy week, so Mulder keeps talking in low tones about what he’s typing because he’s never met a silence he can’t fill, and Scully is famously reticent.
Listen- I’m tired
If your ask is rude or you’re asking me to read for something I’ve been so openly against and I’ve provided lots of unbiased information on, I’m just gonna delete it.
I really am so fucking tired.
