Fake marriage AU: Face reveal
(Context: a la The Proposal, Engie n Spy are getting fake married for citizenship, like in The Proposal, the duo has to tell Engie's family abt. the marriage)
On weekends in Mellow Wells, Texas, people forked over door fees so they could blow off steam at a club called E3Ts.
A retired poker pro, Emerson Tate Teague-Tanner, owned the establishment. Being five-foot-three and believing the abbreviation distracted folks from his diminutive stature, he hung those characters up in pulsating neon where possible and got them glued onto many of the city’s billboards, too.
These self-promoting measures, plus frequent jaunts to an assortment of bordellos, left him short on cash; the club, often shorthanded.
Waiting for drinks at E3Ts felt so unnaturally painful, in fact, that regulars nicknamed the place Extra-Terrestrial Titty Twisters. Intentionally or not, this went a long way toward vilifying Teague-Tanner, recasting him as the “little green man” who was causing all the sore feelings.
It really tweaked his Napoleon complex.
