1. You do NOT set your dice down on the table with the d20 in the 20 or 1 position. Any other number is neutral. You can leave a rolled 1 or 20 on the table, but you donāt place them down like that.
2. Dedicate a set of dice (or a d20) to a character and live out their luck. Reuse them between characters but if you have multiple dice you donāt pick it every roll. Live out your glorious misfortune. Let the dice tell you your character has always been a disaster and a horrible goose in his life, not just recently.
nat 20. most memorable crit success?
I roll very polarizing rolls. 28:18 natural 1s to natural 20s over these 19 games (more on each than everyone else and we track). While I have many memorable failures, I canāt remember a singular defining crit success. So Iāll use one from Adventurersā League (Ā āsame characterā but backstory and development arenāt part of ALās vocabulary).
In a final fight against three hags and some other things, I actually did moreĀ āclericyā things than I ever had previously: destroy undead and dispel magic. Then I charged the last hag that was still not dead after the paladin/greatweaponmaster + grave cleric combo killed everything else. I got to roll my Inflict Wounds spell with advantage (my duplicate was out which distracts and gives me advantageāĀ āWhoās got the blinding ball of necrotic energy?!ā as I pass it between both of us) and cast it at 4th level and I double crit. Two 20s. The rest of the table piled up their d10s since I needed to roll 12d10Ā and ahhhh I know what a fireball feels like. I did 74 damage or something absurd.
