Please excuse any grammatical errors; I'm trying to learn English and I'm trying not to use Google Translate so much (I think I'm doing alright, hahaha).
Wow! I was browsing the "Mousetrap" tag and I stumbled upon the gem that is your MOTM AU. It's interesting, which is saying something since I've never been interested in this pairing.
Could Mickey and Felix have had a somewhat functional marriage? I mean, maybe for Marley's sake. I think if Mickey had understood the importance of the nuclear family and the relationship between parents (whether a child sees their parents hate, respect, or love each other) in their children's lives, things might have been different.
And if it hadn't worked out that way, then maybe this could be a "What if…?" scenario to clear up my doubt. I don't know, it's just my curiosity. Mickey could have developed feelings for Felix (though he would still despise and mistreat him), but it would have been a stereotypical abusive relationship from our grandparents' era (you know, Dad rules the family and abuses Mom).
By the way, sorry if it's long, and I love your art <3
hmmmm thats a really interesting question
Could mickey and felix have had a functioning relationship?
In another life maybe they would do laundry and taxes with each other.
Moreover, mickey COMPLETELY cut felix out of marley’s life. And maybe this was one of the better outcomes.
Because do i think felix and mickey should stay together for marley’s sake?
The only thing worse than having separated parents is having parents who never separated, but definitely should have.
It would be unhealthy for a child to grow up in an environment where the parents are clearly toxic to one another, even if they both love their kid. Marley would be worse off than she would be now.
obviously the best case scenario for them would be like a shared custody situation, but mickey’s stubbornness and self-righteousness in his beliefs of what’s best for his daughter wouldn’t let that happen.
Wow TWO posts in one day?? I’m on a roll
