A golden dragonfly shining in the afternoon heat, guarding her fence territory and letting the sunlight warm her wings. I couldn't get iNat to give me a correct suggestion on this one, since it was convinced this was an amberwing, which it is not. I knew this was a meadowhawk, so I went through the genus until I found a match, and it turns out I wasn't getting the species suggested because it had only been sighted in Georgia 6 times previously! This female was the first GA observation in 6 years, followed by another the day after from another observer and then a male that flew right up to me a little over a week later. Hopefully this means they're breeding in the location I found them and will continue to show up here for years to come. They're gorgeous dragonflies!

Hello yes this is a male Autumn Meadowhawk, Sympetrum vicinum, family Libellulidae.

They're like, the most badass flying animal in Earth's history but they are also silly!!! Which I appreciate.

I removed your tags so there’s no confusion between mine and yours! Anyhoo this is a very lovely red friend. I imagine they’re an autumn meadowhawk, or at least similar in the same genus, Sympetrum :)

Meadowhawk, hive/sky. Being a hybrid, he was free of Wasp's control and worked with the Chrysalis members in Mantis hive along with a few more hybrids. They were really only able to get away with this since Mantis Hive is the farthest from Wasp Hive. Meadow worked as a guardsman and would feed important information to the Chrysalis so they wouldn't be found. I'll add more to him once I listen to 13, 14, and 15. I really should get around to that.
