What is Forest, Celeste and Vesta's relationship with Alan? And how Vesta was introduced to the Orions?

I answered the first question here a few answers ago, but if you have trouble finding it, here's the short version: Celeste quickly got used to Alan and became friends with him, Forest had a much harder time getting used to Alan, and Vesta's attitude towards Alan is somewhere between Celeste's and Forest's
As for the second question: Vesta came to the Orion family with the help of the twins. She was 5 years old at the time, and the twins were 9. Celeste and Forest saw her trying to steal some coins from two boys (also about 9 years old). Vesta had been an orphan since birth and often ran away from the orphanage due to the poor living conditions there. For a time she lived on the streets, stealing food from stores or finding coins with which she could buy food.
When she tried to steal the coins from the boys, they wanted to beat her or report her to adults, but Forest and Celeste stood up for her and then took her home. And Hunter couldn't bring herself to throw the girl out. So Vesta began living with Hunter and the twins. When Alan returned to the family, he accepted Vesta as his own child, just like Forest and Celeste were
