GASP I LOVE THAT ONE

It's a bit old but it's a goodie. I wrote it a couple semesters ago for a creative writing class. It's super short and it's not my usual style as a result, but restrictions are great for getting out of your comfort zone.

"The buzz of the fluorescent lights filled the lieutenant's ears like cotton. The computer screen stared at them innocently from their workstation. The light of Alpha Lupi shone through tinted windows, glinting off the keys they couldn’t bring themself to touch.

Twenty five hundred hours. The biologist was still in her lab. Life support was still being diverted to her workspace long after the rest of the crew had gone to sleep.

Twenty six fifteen. The biologist's vital signs spiked, before rapidly fading into nothing.

Zero hundred hours. Her vital signs returned. Life support and electricity to the lab was manually turned off. The airlock was used.

Zero zero ten. The biologist's personal quarters were accessed. No activity since."

I like to call this one "McReady goes off the fucking deep end".
