so. I don't know if anyone has seen the incredibly disrespectful fucking video that some fan took of Gerard and Lindsey Way on a plane. It's taken down in most places, but HOOOOLYYYY SHIT. That shit made my BLOOD BOIL.

MCR just finished their last concert of the North American tour in Tampa. They got on a flight (presumably home) and were quite exhausted, I can imagine. I'm not sure if the whole band was there, as we can only really see Gerard and then a glimpse of Frank's hands (as well as Lindsey next to Gerard), but the main focus was really on Gee. The fan starts to record without permission, already kind of annoying, and asks them for pictures. Lindsey AND Gerard say no multiple times and this fan won't stop asking OR recording. They're clearly very uncomfortable and anyone who's decently familiar with Gerard knows that he already has trouble with planes and flying because of high anxiety. He was already in a shitty place (he hates flights, tired, just got done touring a whole ass continent, and this fan is shoving a camera in his face and trapping him in.) AND NOW YOU'RE MAKING THE POOR GUY VISIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE??

READ THE ROOM PLEASE... Frank literally had to tell them to go back to their seat like a middle schooler. He was NOT having it. THEN THEY GO ONLINE AND FUCKING POST THAT AND THEM AND THEIR FRIENDS START ACTING LIKE GEE AND LINDSEY WERE SUPER CHILL ABOUT IT. HELLO????? the WORST part is, they wanted to act like everything was fine and they weren't super fucking disrespectful of Gee and Lindsey's boundaries and NEVER FUCKING APOLOGIZED 💔

the more I watch it, the more second-hand embarrassment I get and the angrier I get.

In such an intimate setting as a plane, too. They're just trying to sit there and be normal. If I was on a plane with ALL OF MCR on it, I would silently freak out, awkwardly wave and maybe (and it's a BIG maybe) Briefly thank them and say that their work changed my life. THAT'S IT.

moral of the story, if you see any celebrity on a plane, PLEASE treat them like normal people, because it is a normal people setting. It is not a meet n greet and unless they themselves express EXPLICIT consent and willingness to take a quick picture or sign something or talk to you, JUST MOVE THE FUCK ON. Don't shove cameras in their faces, listen to boundaries, and don't Draw attention! just be respectful ffs!!

Did you notice gerard, who has never ever reached out to his bandmates in character, reached out to both frank and mikey tonight? And they both tried to step in

And gerard reaches out after mikey gets hurt but just.... can't quite bring himself to touch him again? Like he's afraid

And then... gerard puts the jacket on a whole song early

As far as I've seen even when he wasn't actively resisting the clerk was always the one to put it on him

HI HELLO ITS YOU oh my goodness yes i have MANY thoughts about the Mikey situation and its 1am where i am and I’ve spent the last 2 hours drawing graphs for this damn accidental rats-in-a-box thesis I’m working on so i can expand on this one in the morning 🤣

I WILL say, I did see Frank run over to the God mic before the first moment and when he spoke into it Gerard turned around, so there’s a chance something happened that he had to relay to the rest of the band via their in-ears that caused that interaction to happen - you can see G take out one of his IEMs to say something when they meet in the middle of the stage, so that read more to me as an emergency tech thing than anything else.
