Hi I saw your post on manuka honeys ability to heal wounds! I have broken skin on my face right now and am probably going to go buy some manuka hiney tomorrow. How fast would you say it helps wounds heal? Even if it doesn't heal the spot it reduces redness and inflammation correct?
It can irritate the skin on occasionâlike cause some burning if you use a potent version (I use above 10+ UMF I think)âbut for the most part it does reduce redness and inflammation. I wouldnât use it on a huge open wound though (get treatment for that), but I would use it for something like a burn or a minor wound/abrasion and even acne. It helps there or at least it has helped me. I donât trust WebMD (for a variety of reasons) or any other âpro-manuka honeyâ (probably advertising their own brand of honey) websites, so hereâs an article that I believe is pretty darn balanced about manuka:Â

I hope that helps!
Edit: OH, how fast? That kind of depends on the wound. Youâll see some results in at least a week or so (less inflammation/redness)--that much is often the case for me.Â
