Last night was ridiculous, and on a Wednesday! #bestfriend #mcgreevys @klyssa
Boston, a 6.2 for YOU!
After the horrible events on Patriot’s Day 2013, we all wondered what we could do. Many of us don’t run marathons (or run much at all), but we all can beat feet in stride. While this may not be much, maybe just walking a little bit can make a big difference. So, lets walk to pay homage to all of those runners, the fallen, the maimed, the injured and the City of Boston. We are working out the route - maybe the last 6 miles of the marathon route, or a walking tour of the city. A little something to show our solidarity. We will, of course, end on Boylston Street… final destination is our favorite bar, McGreeveys, for dinner, brews, and revelry. We ask that you make a $10 (or whatever you can) donation to The Claddaugh Fund (https://www.fundraise.com/bostonmarathonfund), which is the fundraising platform for The Dropkick Murphys. You can do it on your own or hand it over day of and we will make one big donation. This is a totally casual event - we are not looking to create a flash mob or a ginormous group that may require coordinating logistics with the city - but, the more the merrier. Tell your friends. You want to meet us along the way, sweet; just want to catch up for eats and drinks, fabu. Join the FB event page (https://www.facebook.com/events/434720483285621/?ref=2) or this blog for updates!
