" Easy to find then. Alright. Just making sure. I am not in the mood to crash tonight." He sighs, holding on to the other, a tiny bit awed at how easy the guy makes it look.
Tim nodded.
“I wasn’t planning on it.”
His wings flapped a few times before they started gliding, his feathers rustling in the breeze. The grey wings felt free, unlike how they had been at the circus.
"But will you be able to navigate? I don't have laser eyes, you know?" Stiles mumbles, frowning lightly. The last thing he wanted was for then to crash or for them to miss their goal. " Maybe we should wait out the night. Just take the few hours we can get. "
“I’ll be fine. By the time it gets dark we’ll be within a few miles of the house. It’s a big space, kinda like a ranch.”
Tim kept flying, his wings flapping every few minutes. His wings created powerful flaps, pushing them upwards until they were at an optimal elevation.
Stiles looks at the ground mournfully. After the first bit of excitement had passed he was reminded that he really didnt like free flying. But this was the only way out. " Alright, but no stunts this time, okay? I am too tired to go through these tiny heart attacks."
"No stunts."
Tim grabbed Stiles and flew into the air, his wings enjoying the freedom of flight again.
"it's starting to get dark. We'll have good cover."
"There you are, sleeping beauty. " Stiles teases softly when he sees the other wake. Not that he minded taking watch, not at all. It was nice to have some time to come to terms with his newfound freedom. " You think you can get us the rest of the way in one go ?"
Tim scowled at him for the sleeping beauty comment.
"Yeah. If we leave now we can probably make it by dinner time."
He started flapping his wings to warm them up.
"Ready?"

"Sure, you do that. Hard work and all of that. I will be on the look out, make sure nobody is coming after us. We should be far enough away, but you never know." Stiles offers with a smile and a shrug, leaning against the tree Tim was sitting in front of.
Tim let himself fall asleep, not realizing how tired he was until this moment. He started to dream. He dreamt of home and his friends who had also escaped the lab. He dreamt of quiet days and peaceful nights where he could be accepted by others.
Hours later when his eyes opened, it was still sunny. He stood up and stretched, wings expanding to their full span.
Stiles nods slowly at the others expression, smiling at him. " That has to be nice. I mean- I had my Dad, ya know, but it's always nice to have family behind you. And mine was a bit ago anyways. " He mumbles, smiling thinly at the other, before devouring his own lunch.
Tim nodded, taking another bite, finishing the sandwich. He sighed and leaned back against the tree trunk. "I'm gonna take a nap, if that's okay. This grass is so much softer than that cage."Tim closed his eyes and took a deep breath, waiting for a response.
"Alright for me. I need to stretch my legs a bit anyways. All that hanging around in the air makes me stiff. " Stiles mumbles, stretching his arms over his head in that moment too, letting out a long breath. " So your family- do they know about the wings?"
"My mom and sister are adoptive. I don't know my biological doners."
Tim stretched his legs, using some of the basic static stretches he learned at the lab.
"My sister's dad divorced Mom a while ago. I never knew him. So yeah, Mom and my sister know about my wings."
