This is Treasure Hunt Barbie AA 2003 as far as I can tell.

Bought for almost $20 on aliexpress with a half rooted head of kanekalon: it was a gamble but i felt that heart twinge like the first time I saw Lounge Kitties Mbili Barbie. I soaked her in warm soapy water to remove the product without further damaging the paint but she’s missing half her gradient shimmer eyeshadow on one side.

98% done. I wasn't able to work on her today but there's just some patchiness in her parting to tidy up. She's giving me serious second thoughts about keeping the gothic purple reroot i did of this same head you see since i have a teal and mint curly 'Chandra', it felt excessive to have two. 🤔 Yeah seriously rethinking that. Could be 'mail withdrawal' though lol. That said they'd make a great pair and i do love this face.

Ok doll post time! I finished champagne platinum Blue Brocade, redid her eyes and gave her dark brown blush with a hint of dark brick red. Working over the original duff rooting was a challenge and I’m still annoyed at how patchy the white scalp goes even though it makes sense given how much it’s dragged and scraped and punched. Photos on kenya body to show the length to the client. I know she would have preferred longer but buying new hair was not an option this christmas due to uk mail lockdown.

I fell for a Janay i’ve had before, sold on and ragretted. So I smashed buy (there was only one or i’d have linked the listing) thinking that cut was a stray hair or something and she came with a big ol slice on her head. Hours of sanding later and it now looks like a cut. suggestions VERY welcome, I havn’t yet started rooting her so I can still mess around with sanding, freezing, whatever’s needed.

Here’s the purple lipped version I had in 2017 i think, her orange tone closeish to afra had no barbie equivalent at the time, this new one is dark black and an exact match for Kenya’s darker skintone (aliexpress.com/item/4000234749376.html).
