So, Just a Thought, but...
The newest episode of RWBY just came out, and with one of the best cliff-hangers of this series, so you know my brain is buzzing at a million miles an hour trying to figure out whatāll happen next. The thing is, Iām pretty sure I know how itās going to go down.
SPOILER WARNING!!Ā At the end of V5E8, we see Kali and Ghira defending their mansion from the White Fang, who as we learned a few episodes ago are storming the Belladonnaās home in the hopes of killing the two of them. Ghira, right before the episode closes, goes full beast-mode to take on the fox-twins whose names escape me.
By the way, Ghira, letās be real. Taking off the minuscule amount of armor you already had on before jumping into what looks to be a very deadly fight isnāt your wisest decision, oh great Faunus Chieftain.
Anyways, from the fact that heās going into beast-mode to take on the twins, to the fact that heās barely armored while taking on the twins, to him taking on the twins (who are likely based off of the Japanese Trickster Spirits, Kitsunes), thereās a high probability that the next time weāre in Menagerie, Ghiraās going to end up mortally wounded, perhaps even just straight up dead.
There is another way this can play out. This whole scene is going on while Blake and Sun are running back to the Belladonnasā, and we know how fast those two can run. Between their speed and my faith that Ghira is a lot harder to kill than he looks (which is pretty dang hard as is), thereās a high likelihood that theyāll get there just in enough time to back Ghira up.
That doesnāt mean there wonāt be a death, though, oh no! In fact, I am almost positive that in the next episode in Menagerie, Sun WukongĀ will be the one who ends up dead!
Letās review: Blake canāt die just yet--she needs to make it to Mistral and team back up with her team, as she is shown in the opening sequence to reunite with her team and join the fight against Salem. Also, her parents likely wonāt die because, again, theyāre showing to be a lot harder to kill than they first look.
Sun, on the other hand, is not shown in that last sequence of fighting Salemās forces in the opener, but instead is only shown in Menagerie. Also, his role in the story so far has been pretty fluxed. Heās not Blakeās love interest, but heās not just a friend. Heās her companion, and once the Menagerie part of the story is over, that role will be gone and done with, replaced by Blakeās team.
Also, over the last few episodes weāve seen of Sun in Menagerie, weāve seen him getting closer and more connected with Ghira. They start to react similarly to the White Fang, Sun openly shows support for him. So, itās not hard to believe that Sun--who is shown to be brash and reckless at times--would likely jump in front of Ghira to take a shot that would likely kill the beast.
ThatāsĀ how I anticipate the next episode going down. The Belladonnas live, and Blake continues on to Mistral to fight Adam, but Sun Wukong dies, both so that heās no longer the awkward tag-along character, and so that we have an interesting plot twist that hits Wukong fans, like myself, right in the chest.
