How many times this past weekend I cried, missing you. Dearest, I see you in my mind, and my heart aches—the pain I feel—the weight of you in my soul. There is no burden I would rather carry than my love for you. I would choose you over any other today.

I want to cry for you, but I am so broken right now. I have no tears. All I want is to let it out. I want to cry for myself and cry for you, but I cannot. My heart is torn apart for you, and I don’t even have the consolation of being able to cry. How often this weekend I threw myself on the floor, just wanting nothing more than to cry for you and to swallow your pain. You are too gentle for what has happened to you. I can’t help but blame myself. How could I know that I would create such pain and have no way to ease your suffering? It kills me.

So many times I want to run to you—I want to wrap you in my arms and protect you from every memory, every nightmare. I would come to thee, Love, if only I knew how.
