He is so insanely precious in this play (just that whole look kills me dead)! Sad, skittish little cutie pie!
I feel like if Terry saw him like this he would take full advantage of this very frightened, very pretty boy. Charm him and scare him enough to run straight into his arms. And it would so easy because this “Daniel” would be vulnerable and aching for kindness and affection—and very much attracted to dangerous, bad men.
Max would be the polar opposite. He’d see this sad kitten and while he might privately think he’s the prettiest boy—but he would feed him hot soup and give him blankets and find him a safe place all while making him crack a smile even if he can’t quite make him laugh. Yet. Next time for sure! Over milkshakes!! “Daniel” would be overwhelmed certainly, but would probably also shyly seek shelter in Max’s big friendly dog energy.
I swear, the best outcome would be Terry/Daniel and Max/Teddy. They would all balance each other out! 🤣
Terry Silver would definitely add Teddy Cuba to his collection of boys, wherever that might end. I have one glimmer of hope for Teddy here: Terry's genuine interest in the arts. I think he would gladly indulge Teddy's artistic interests, and that might save the boy from the abyss. I don't think Terry would. The art, music, books and sculptures just might.
Max! Awww, you know how I feel about Teddy and Max. All the milkshakes! Though it wouldn't be entirely straightforward. I feel Teddy might have to go indulge in his dark side for a while, something Max wouldn't understand. Until he had gotten it out of his system and could be comfortable being Max' sweet housecat, scribbling and arguing to Max' "cool. Wanna go play ball?"
The reason I think Daniel could balance Terry out is that he'd let Terry rant about his obsessions without getting too caught up in them. Or judging them, either. He can rant with the best of them, too; about different things. He would not ask Terry to be anything he's not, unlike everybody else Terry has ever met. Pair Daniel with Max, though he's not dark enough. Daniel likes a little edge. And Max protective instincts wouldn't be triggered by Daniel. He's a good kid. He'll be OK (unless Daniel is having The Year From Hell, also known as 1985. I think Max would take Terry on, if I don't think he would win - other than by pulling such a dumb move he takes Terry by surprise).
