How do you think Jack baylock started working for Malcom like I always wanted to know if you Had any thoughts about that?
---
Could be anything from him being an orphan (A military brat that got embroidered by street crime after losing his parents, perhaps, going in and out of jail due to various abuses of the law? Realistic, no?) or someone who's own parents got indebted to the wrong people, maybe loansharks, maliciously intentioned individuals, gangsters, The Yakuza, you name it, and by extension, landing Jack directly or indirectly in Malcolm's clutches while the son attempted to pay off a generational debt that can't be paid off because organized crime is positioned in such a way it ensures one can never really work off what they owe, instead, landing the victim lower and lower into the bosom of the Underworld, doing worse and worse things for their handler. Maybe a combination of everything above? In either case, I get the impression Jack Blaylock is a child born abroad to American expats who perhaps died early due to circumstances, leaving him both disconnected and over-romanticizing a pastoral existence, fate and the States (a place, he has ironically never seen or remembers very little of), simultaneously so knee-deep in a life of gruesome criminal activity, that once he was inside, he could never leave those circles again. By the end of it all, once his conscience was finally left tar black by the shady life he led, he didn't even want to leave those circles even if in the figurative chance he could.
