Well yeah, we should criticise media! to clarify how i feel about this post bc its a post that probs warrants that, it was Not Smart of me to not do so initially: I don’t agree with the statement that those medias are made by good people. From what I remember about Hussie hes kind of a dick (i dont know that much about him tho) and i don’t know shit about SU’s crew. The McElroys seem fine enough. I also think the wording in the second part of the post is hyperbolic but thats what Almost Every post on this site is like

I reblogged it bc I agree that these shows are held to a higher standard than a lot of the other media that are/have been very popular on tumblr (like Star Wars and Avengers and a Huge List of very queerbaity tv shows like Supergirl ect.) People crit these things all the time, but they’re less likely to drop them and it rarely gets as personal? That’s what I’ve noticed. And I’m not surprised that’s the case, because when something is considered progressive (though HS was like .. not that progressive tbh, it just appealed to a lot of social justice types) it feels like more of a betrayal when it fucks up.
