Based off of his house tour with vanity fair (so basically you’re doing it with him)

“Hi, I’m Matthew Gray Gubler”

“Hello, I’m y/n y/ln”

“And we live in a haunted tree house”

“Come, let me show you some of our weird stuff,” Matthew grabs your hand and slinks backwards, away from the camera with you.

First up on your home tour is Matthew’s kimono closest and as he talks to the camera, you tilt your head and stare at him in adoration. “Y/n actually has some kimonos in here as well, so I guess it’s not solely my closet, it’s hers as well.” Matt explains. You chuckle slightly and add “ but have way more than I do love” Smiling goofily at the pet name, he agrees.

As you enter the house, you lead Matthew and the camera over to the fireplace. “The thing so special about here,” you smile “ is that my darling Matt hand built it himself because he claimed the stone masons weren’t giving it ‘the drunk gnome look’ he was going for.” Matt playfully scrunches his nose at you and laughs. He adds “I was the only one there that was bad enough at masonry to build it like a drunk gnome” “Next” he says as he puts his hand around your waist and moves behind you to grab something. “Here is one of the screws that I had in my knee for about 7 months a while back, and the reason it’s here actually is because I gifted it to my partner when I came back from my appointment to get it out. It wasn’t too serious of a medical issue, but it was still a concerning one and one that I had had for awhile. I had it before i met y/n actually but, they were dating me when I had the surgery on my knee to get the screw in my knee cap. I’m kinda rambling on here, but the reason it’s so special is because the first person I wanted to see out of surgery, while I was still kinda out of it, was them. And that’s when I knew they were the one for me. So when I was finally able to get it out of my knee, I wanted to gift it to them because it’s the thing that made me realize how much she means to me”. Although you have heard Matthew tell you this story many times before, your eyes still are slightly teary. And by the looks around the camera and microphone people are tearing at Matthew’s sweet story as well. “Aww” you coo as you lean more into Matthew, embracing him into a hug. “I love you” you whisper “I love you”.

After the heart warming moment you and your husband had you continue on with the tour. He shows his some of the directing work that he’s done on criminal minds. You showcased some of the props you’ve gotten to take home from a couple movies and TV shows you’ve starred in. Matthew and you share the stuffed animals that you’ve hand sown together. You specifically make sure to show off the octopus you made, as you are very proud of how well it turned out. Continuing on Mathew and you share the items you have collected on your desk, such as skulls, various teeth and gems. Matthew shows his electrocution pen and shocks himself. You giggle at his antics. You show the crown of plastic babies you diy-ed and put it on your head, exclaiming, “ I wear this when I write emails because the babies bring me the power of words!”

To close off the video

“Oh honey you know what we should do” Matthew ask you. “What is that”

Matthew and you (separately) jumped rope, sides passing threw the screen. “Thanks for stopping bye” you both shout.

You don't believe in love. You don't even believe in soulmates.

So as you're standing in line at your favorite caffe, the barista bringing what was supposed to be your order to the counter, you figure it's just a coincidence. A mishap of some sort, of course.

This stranger- this handsome stranger, at that, was reaching for that same cup of coffee as you. It probably didn't help that the barista called the order instead of your name

"Oh- I'm sorry, forgive me. I didn't know that you ordered a-"

"Cold brew? Yeah, I did. It's no big deal, though! You can take it. I don't mind waiting."

His smile was one that you'd probably offer on a sunny day, adding onto the warmth that would already be present. It was one that, if offered during different circumstances, you'd cave for sure. The man's smile was, as they say, a million dollar one.

That's not even counting his looks. The way his curls framed his face was almost surreal, glasses perched on his nose and framing eyes that were sure to stop anyone in their tracks. They were a dark brown, yes, but the gold in them made you want to crumble as the mysterious man's feet. And his light scruff-

You were getting ahead of yourself but who wouldn't? This man was the definition of a god complex. Yet, he looked so familiar. You just couldn't put your finger on it.

The trance you were in abruptly came to a screeching halt, the voice of the barista butting in and ending whatever moment you were in, "I'm so sorry about that. This coffee actually belongs to a... Matthew?"

Matthew. It had a nice ring to it.

"Oh- uh, thank you! Here."

Watching as Matthew took the cold brew from the young woman, he offered it over to you to which earned him a look of surprise and utter confusion. You went to decline his offer but had been interrupted by the handsome individual in front of you, "I insist?.."

"(Y/N). Thank you for that. I really don't mind waiting.", You took the coffee from his grip, earning a small smile from Matthew as he adjusted his glasses before shoving his hands into his pockets.

"It was no problem. I just hope you don't mind being 'Matthew' for a day. I wouldn't mind being '(Y/N)' seeing as you're really beautiful?", You couldn't help but giggle at the man's attempt at flirting, finding it rather flattering that he saw you as someone who was "beautiful." He rubbed the back of his neck while smiling meekly towards you with his cheeks glowing red. The honey like glow in his eyes shining the longer you two held contact.

"Hey, can you get a move on already? You're holding up the line."

The complaint, yet again, broke the trance you two seemed stuck in as you offered the individual a smile of apology before moving to the side. Matthew had begun to follow after you until that same barista called what was originally your order, "(Y/N)!"

"That's me.", You laughed quietly to yourself while watching his retreating figure return to the same spot he was mere seconds ago before returning back to you.

Glancing up at you, Matthew caught your eye to which you quickly covered your tracks by speaking, "It's not every day that I trade identities with a complete stranger."

This seemed to have caught him completely off guard, a chuckle escaping past his lips. Lips that seemed so kissable, yet-

“Believe it or not, I don't regret it. I've, uh, enjoyed talking to you. I'd love to talk more, actually. Get to know you a bit.", You were surprised by this. The same guy who was shy just a few minutes ago, cheeks bright and all, is now admitting that he wants to get to know you and that he's enjoyed talking to you. With confidence, too.

You'd be lying if you said your heart wasn't racing at this point. Or that you weren't shaking inside from the nerves that coursed through your body.

Collecting yourself and your thoughts, you answered Matthew while trying to imitate his confidence but failing miserably, "O-Of course! Yeah, I'd like that."

It was as if you had just told Matthew that you finally found the cure for cancer, his smile was wide and bright. You couldn't contain your smile for long at his excitement, and he quickly took notice to it.

“So, it's a date? Maybe?"

“It's a date."

And as you watched Matthew try to keep his cool, although failing miserably, you couldn't help but feel a flicker of hope within your chest. Hope that this could work out good for you for once. Hope that- well..
