⌢ ⟡﹒ afro caribbean reprsention on my blog
❨ from @writingwithcolor’s Biracial ( Black & White), Caribbean Colombian person post ❩
( from @writingwithcolor’s post )
the island i grew up in is unfortunately still associated with their colonizers as they are an over sea territory of france … i have seen many people from france even the people of color living here are sexualising us , saying we’re good in bed , we have sex everyday , think that we are easy girls … it’s just sick that we are perceived like this.
as i not only write fanfictions , i am in the heavy process of writing a queer caribbean book involving heavy post-colonialism content , how it affects the population and people at that time. especially women. i centered it on two queer women of color ( one of african descent , european / the other one of african & indian descent ). this book of mine is very dear to me ; i want to highlight how post colonialism , religion & sexuality is still apart of our community even now. i want us to be seen and respected.
as for my fanfictions. most of my readers are and will be people of color. i have found many afro caribbean and afro latina writing and reading fanfiction that represents us and it encouraged me to write afro-caribbean / afro-latina coded readers. it’s just refreshing to be seen. i will try to do us as much justice as i can because we deserve it.
if you do not like it , don’t read it & don’t send hate and leave people of color alone.
I love how throughout his MTMTE and LL arc, Megatron goes from this snarky asshole to finally caving under the weight of his wrong-doing.
the thing about the first half of Supernatural is that it is inherently about transient brothers.
The reason why The Oxford comma matters.

afro americans attacking cardi b because she said she was afro caribbean is just how some french africans see us french afro caribbean when we say we’re not africans…
“ she’s hispanic/latina she can’t be black ” while being ‘hispanic/latinx’ is not a race … that’s the dumbest shit ever just because they can’t understand her ethnical background.
the afro caribbean community is a joke to so many people , especially from people who share the same color as me. i’m so done.
