we see dallas go through different emotions throughout the movie, and people pick and pick on characterizing him. But in my defense any emotion leads dallas to bargaining/anger, heavy emotions. Just him flirting with a girl easily made him get aggressive, manhandling, and firey. Even if Dallas is happy he canβt control himself.
When dallas was breaking down in the hospital you can see him feel sadness, but then it immediately turns into anger, and we know from the book descriptions that he wasnβt playing a tough act, he naturally responded in violence and anger. Heβs stuck with it.
Dallas has zero self control and it is saddening when people say heβs a βbad personβ I mean he is, but not in the way people are saying he is. His whole life had him react naturally to different emotions with anger in the end, even if he didnβt mean it. But even if he did not mean it, he then will make himself mean it and thatβs where it gets out of control for him.
You canβt fix him, you can make him happy, feel joy but in the long way heβs just gonna get angry and violent.
