I always hate it when people are anti two characters getting together when they were childhood sweethearts simply because it's quote un quote unrealistic. For one, childhood sweethearts do last sometimes. My cousin has been married to her childhood sweetheart for over 20 years. My brother started dating his childhood sweetheart 15 years ago and they've been married for 8 of those years so far.
But with all that being said if there is one childhood sweetheart TV couple that really annoys me it is DJ and Steve from Full House/Fuller House. In my opinion, they are the definition of a forced and inorganic endgame simply as fan service. DJ and Matt had such better chemistry and I feel that the chemistry should dictate the endgame and not necessarily the fact that they were intended to be endgame in the original run. If the chemistry was also really good with DJ and Steve then I would get it but from all that I have seen of Fuller House it was just sorta middling. I got a more "They're better as friends" vibe. BTW I'm pretty sure that Candace said that she was Team Matt and also Jodie and Andrea have said that Matt and DJ had more romantic chemistry and Steve and DJ had more of a friendship vibe.
Are there any other people that hate Steve Hale as much as I do here? I need to talk with someone else other than my sister about how much I hate DJ and Steve after season 3b(?) of Fuller House
