2 mai: Sfânta Matrona de la Moscova

Celebrată pe 2 mai, Matrona Dimitrievna Nikonova s-a născut în anul 1881, în satul Sebino, provincia Tula, într-o familie de țărani cu frica lui Dumnezeu.

Honeymoon???

Surely the giants' honeymoon will make all of Mewni tremble even more if it's Matrona or Fum.

Do they also become very protective of their wives when they are pregnant ?????

The wedding ceremony is basically just one big party with everyone brawling and drinking. They don't have honeymoons, but they do have a tradition where whoever won the courtship duel (the leader the relationship) carves out a new cave within the mountain the tribe lives within for them.

The Mountain of the giants (I don't think I've named it yet) is massive, and the trip up to the caves would take days for most people. But with how easily they move/climb through the earth it's pretty simple for them to make their way up and down. Thankfully they're so high up most of Mewni can't hear them when newly webs are celebrating lol (though some people just outside of Gigantea feel small earthquakes, but they don't what it is, and probably wouldn't want to).

Fum and Matrona though... they would hear. Everyone would hear that...

I'm surprised Fum didn't crush the old Hody after so many insults.

We know that Fum greatly admires Astro, but I wonder what he thinks or feels about Star, Moon, and Matrona???

He has whenever his friends get hurt, or when he comes across someone really, really bad or evil. Like if he ever stumbles across a rebel group or raiders who just hurt or kill people for not reason, the fuse is lit. There's a reason nobody ever messed with the giant tribe. They're the least in number of the major tribes, but if you piss them off it's pretty over much.

He honestly came close to squashing Hody a few times, but the only reason he didn't was because giants have a stereotype in Mewni about stomping on things, and if he squashed Hody (a royal) he knows it wouldn't look good.

Fum likes Star and Moon just because they're nice to him. Star thought he was adorable, Moon every now and then would whip up giant sized pies for him when she found out he would feel left out sometimes since a lot of the food they made was never in portions meant to him.

9 noiembrie: Sfânta Cuvioasă Matrona

Celebrată pe 9 noiembrie, Sfânta Cuvioasă Matrona s-a născut în orașul Perga Pamfiliei (Asia Mică), în secolul al V-lea. După nașterea fiicei sale, Teodota, familia ei s-a mutat la Constantinopol. Sfânta Matrona, în vârstă de 25 de ani, îndrăgea să meargă la biserica lui Dumnezeu, în care petrecea zile întregi, rugându-se ardent Domnului și plângând pentru păcatele sale.

Matrona is always looking for a sparring partner around the tribe. She’s got no shortage of them, but most can’t really keep up with her for as long as she’d like, tapping out after a few hours. She’s always glad that Fum comes back since he can fully keep up with her. 

Like the rest of her family, Matrona spoils Diane without a second thought. Diane often uses this to her advantage and asks her to carry her to certain places, mostly wherever Dorado is so she can challenge him to a courtship duel. 

Whenever she’s sleeping a lot of the children in the tribe like using her like a jungle gym. Sometimes when she nods off sitting up or standing they play a game where they see who can grab a hair from her head. 

Matrona was rather amused when Fum finally grew taller than her. It was the first time she ever had to look up, even slightly, at someone else. 

She was fascinated when she met Sigurda and Leif since she had never met ice giants before. She kept poking and prodding at them until Antero finally told her to stop before a fight broke out. 

She was disappointed when she found out Diane wanted to use a sword instead of a hammer or a more traditional giant weapon, and was even pouting and muttering ‘What’s so great about Delphine….?” 

Matrona went to visit Townsville once. Unfortunately she didn’t tell anyone and showed up at her natural size. The city went into a panic and assumed there was a monster attack going on. The Vanguard got in contact with her and calmed everything down. They were impressed how easily she moved through the city without stepping on anything. 

When she went to Avalon she wanted to try and ride Jormungandr. DJ managed to stop her, though she was rather disappointed by it. Astro is afraid she might try again and has a spell to tell if she arrives on Avalon without him knowing. 

Matrona always seemed to be able to tell when a new giant being born was a boy or girl. When asked how she just shrugs and says she just knows. 

She’s been challenged to more than a few courtship duels. She accepts them all, but hasn’t taken anyone as a partner yet. Seeing her current descendants she doesn’t think she needs to have anymore kids, and she’s not interested in settling down again. 

She likes to drag Fum and the others on hunting trips. They go with her mostly because they know she’ll overhunt the population if someone doesn’t keep an eye on her. 

Matrona tried to lift Thor’s hammer, but her fingers were too big to get a decent grip on the handle. She got pouty about it and claims she liked her hammer better anyway.
