I never did get diagnosed with dyscalculia. No one cared to think that there was maybe a reason I was struggling with math outside of "this brat is lazy/stupid".
Took until after secondary school for my mum to say she thinks that might be why I had problems with math and math related subjects.
Not much good to me after the fact.
Not much good to me when multiplication (especially third timetables (3×1=3)) still brings back traumatic memories.
Was it really necessary to force me to memorise the whole equation when it was easier to memorise the answer?
It's not like they didn't know I could tell them the answer. But once the equation was added it lost me. And she knew that.
Instead she thought: let's leave this clearly distressed and struggling child, under the age of 10, to stand in a dim hallway with a sheet of timetables and shout at them when they break down sobbing.
And then traumatise them some more with more mental and physical abuse.
Top five types of math you like to do
ok I can't even come up with five because I hate math. basically the only math I don't despise is algebra, like simple equations and factoring and stuff, but I wouldn't even say that I like it. it's just tolerable. everything else in math is disgusting. trig is ok too ig but geometry can go die, along with precal and calculus 🤮 proofs my beloathed
@nightlightsglow i did it anyways. here’s the circle problem resolved. the only explanations you’d probably have to add are the ones between () these things words escape my brain help. anyways good luck with your math thing
