A band named Glassjaw.
I started listening to Glassjaw when I was 15, and fucking up.
I’m still listening to Glassjaw and I am 26, and thriving.
The first time I heard them was after a random couple picked my friend and I off the side of the road, on the way to warped tour, after her parent’s car had broken down. They stopped and offered us a ride so we wouldn’t miss any sets.
“I’m not impressed, I guess I’m not impressed”
I don’t remember how I got so into them, but I did. I fell in love with this band and the community that came with them. I became a part of an online forum, and some of these guys I have talked to for 10 years now. Some of the longest relationships I’ve had have been with dudes on a Glassjaw forum.
Glassjaw was there when I was at the lowest point in my life.
Glassjaw was there when my life was out of control.
Glassjaw was there when I dropped out of school.
Glassjaw was there when my friends gave up on me.
Glassjaw was there when I had no one, not even myself.
Glassjaw was there when I was sick.
Glassjaw was there when I was tired.
Glassjaw was there when I decided to change.
Glassjaw was there when I failed at making that change.
Again.
And again.
Glassjaw was there when things got better.
Glassjaw was there when I started college.
Glassjaw was there when I got my first car.
Glassjaw was there when I ended a relationship.
Glassjaw was there when I took a look at myself.

Glassjaw was there when I got my Bachelor’s Degree.
Glassjaw was there when friends weren’t.
Glassjaw was there when I got my Master’s Degree.
Glassjaw was there when I started my careeer.
Glassjaw was there, and is here now.
